Border Patrol Chief: Aerostats Are ‘an Advantage' That's Being Reduced, Despite Good Trend in Numbers, There's ‘Spike in Chinese Nationals'
[Breitbart] During a portion of an interview with the Fox News Channel aired on Friday’s broadcast of “Special Report,” Border Patrol Chief Raul Ortiz stated that the January border numbers represent a trend in the right direction, but there has been “a spike in Chinese nationals” and stated that the aerostats — whose numbers are being reduced by the Biden administration — are “certainly an advantage for us. And so, we’re going to try and do everything we can to fund those aerostats for as long as we can.”

Ortiz stated that the Border Patrol saw “a significant decrease in what we saw last year and we were also able to decrease the gotaway numbers significantly. So, those are the numbers that we want to trend in the right direction.”

Fox News National Correspondent Griff Jenkins then said, “You’ve got Chinese — a huge increase it appears across the border right now.”

Ortiz responded, “Yeah, we’ve seen a spike in Chinese nationals.”

Jenkins also asked, “You’re losing aerostats, the eyes in the sky. How much will that impact you and do you need those tools?”

Ortiz answered, “Any time we have technology out there, it provides us the situational awareness so we can be able to make those interdictions right on the border — in the immediate border area. It is certainly an advantage for us. And so, we’re going to try and do everything we can to fund those aerostats for as long as we can.”

Afghanistan
Tajikistan, Uzbekistan Should Return Former Govt’s Helicopters to NRF Fighters, Dostum Says
[KhaamaPress] General Abdul Rashid Dostum
...ethnic Uzbek warlord who distinguished himself fighting the Soviets and the Taliban. The story that he had a bad guy run over with a tank is an exaggeration. It was an armored personnel carrier...
, leader of the Junbish-e Milli political party has called on Tajikistan and Uzbekistan to hand over the former government army’s helicopters to National Resistance® Front (NRF) fighters.

The leader of the Junbish-e-Milli party has said that these helicopters should be used by the NRF personnel in different provinces of Afghanistan.

General Dostum has expressed these comments in a ceremony in London commemorating the martyrdom of Khair Mohammad Khairkhaw, one of the key NRF commanders who was killed in the fight against the Taliban
...the Pashtun equivalent of men...
in Andarab valley in northern Baghlan province.

At least 40 helicopters of the former government’s army were transferred to Uzbekistan and Tajikistan, according to Dostum. Prior to this, the Defense Ministry of the United States had announced that 46 flights had landed in Uzbekistan and 18 in Tajikistan until August 21, 2021.

In April, Uzbek authorities announced that helicopters and aircraft of Afghanistan’s former government will not be handed to the Taliban. Ismatullah Irgashev, Uzbekistan’s special representative for Afghanistan had said that the military equipment belongs to the U.S. and will be kept in Uzbekistan in collaboration with Washington.

Abdul Rashid Dostum says that the Taliban kills former Afghan National Army with no mercy — the group conducts door-to-door search operations, find former army personnel, tortures them in the worst possible manner, and eventually kills them.

Pointing to the death of NRF fighters, Dostum said that ’Andarabi and Panjshiris’ deaths will be avenged. He said that the Taliban will not sustain itself for much longer, and called on the opposition parties to regroup against the repressive regime.

Dostum further added that opposition groups should decisively stand against the Taliban, and carefully think about the future structure of Afghanistan, otherwise, there will be no escape from the continued tortures and killings of the ruling regime.

His remarks came days after the Brookings Institution based in the US released an investigative report, claiming that NRF’s resistance would not pose any immediate threats to the Taliban regime. The reports also added that they do not see any alternative group or power to replace the ruling regime in Afghanistan.

#1  Dostum makes an appearance. How nostalgic. He is like the Kevin Costner or Harrison Ford of warlords. It seems like there ought to be a senior tour for warlords to compete against each other after they are past their primes.

It is also good to see that the Brookings Institute is still spewing totally objective analysis to help us make quality real world political decisions like deciding to support the Taliban because there just aren’t any other viable alternatives in their estimation. So we should just support the Taliban and get over our non-Globalist Western bias against subjugating women, medieval codes of punishments and fostering Jihad. Is there a better way to protect the Liberal Western Order than to Venmo some cash to a brutal regime that makes the Amish look progressive?

Arabia
UAE takes new measures to annex Socotra
[HODHODYEMENNEWS.NET] Abu Dhabi government has taken new measures in the Socotra archipelago in southern Yemen
...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of...
, as part of its desperate attempts to strip the strategic island from its Yemeni fabric and annex it to the UAE.

Local media reported quoting sources that the UAE imposed a visa for everyone who wants to go to the occupied Yemeni archipelago.

The UAE has informed all airline offices that whoever wants to go to the Yemeni island of Socotra must travel to it, passing through Abu Dhabi, to obtain an Emirati visa, according to the sources.
There goes my non-stop vacation flight to Socotra
The UAE’s violations of Yemeni illusory sovereignty over the Yemeni island of Socotra are increasing day after day, amid the silence of the "government" loyal to the Saudi-led coalition.

Britain
IS jihadis, wannabe suicide bombers and a machine gun killer: Britain banned from deporting 53 foreign terrorists as European judges say it would breach their human rights
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news]
  • A shocking dossier shows 53 terrorists remain in the UK because of the ECHR

  • Critics have said it is proof the ECHR is 'out of date' and not fit for purpose

Murderers, bomb plotters and would-be suicide bombers are among 53 foreign terrorists whose deportation is being blocked by European human rights laws, a Mail on Sunday investigation today reveals.

In one extraordinary case, an Islamic State member from Bangladesh who was jailed for attempting to recruit new members in Birmingham has successfully blocked his deportation because he would lose access to free NHS healthcare.

Another terrorist, an Iranian who had ingredients for a bomb in his garage in Surrey, has managed to stay in Britain by claiming he suffers from depression.

The dangerous extremists have all been convicted of serious terror offences but most are living in the community at taxpayers' expense.

Among the terrorists whose deportations have been blocked under European human rights laws are:

  • Fahad Mihyi,
...he was PFLP, back when Palestinians still were, and got four life sentences for this little project. Life sentences are much shorter in the new millennium...
    who murdered one woman and wounded nine other victims using a sub-machine gun and hand grenades in an attack on a bus carrying Israeli El Al air crew in Central London in 1978. The Palestinian militant was jailed for life but released in 2005;

  • Shah Rahman, a Bangladeshi Al Qaeda terrorist jailed in 2012 for plotting to bomb the London Stock Exchange. A hand-written target list found at his home gave the names and addresses of then London Mayor Boris Johnson, two rabbis and the US ambassador;

  • Ahmed Alsyed, a Sudanese extremist who was jailed for four- and-a-half years in 2018 for preparing for acts of terrorism and had his 'heart set' on joining Islamic State. He was freed after just 19 months, despite objections from the Home Office;

  • Mourad Mosdefaoui, a recruiter who lured youngsters to Islamic State on social media, who was jailed for two years in 2015. His asylum claims have been refused but he cannot be deported, after arguing that being returned to Algeria may breach his human rights.

  • Wahbi Mohammed, who helped plan the failed July 21, 2005 bombings in London, an attempt to replicate the 7/7 bomb attacks which killed 52 two weeks earlier. The Somalian was jailed for 17 years, reduced to 13 on appeal. He cannot be deported after arguing that he may face inhumane treatment in his native country.

  • Ismail Abdurahman, a Somalian who also helped the 21/7 bombers. He was jailed for ten years in 2008, reduced to eight on appeal, for assisting an offender and four counts of having terrorist information. He has successfully argued that his human rights may be breached if he is returned to Somalia.

Politicians and lawyers critical of the ECHR, developed after the Second World War to prevent atrocities such as the Holocaust, say it is no longer fit for purpose in an era of mass migration, litigation and lone-wolf terrorism.

The three sections most commonly used by terrorists facing deportation are Article 3, which prohibits torture and inhumane treatment; Article 5, the right to liberty and security; and Article 8, the right to private and family life.

The new UK Bill of Rights going through Parliament may allow judges to ignore parts of the ECHR when dealing with terrorist deportations.

Security analyst Dr Rakib Ehsan conducted a study for the Henry Jackson Society think-tank, which concluded that failing to deport foreign terrorists 'poses a fundamental threat to British national security'.

After seeing The Mail on Sunday's shocking dossier, he said: 'This shows that our current laws are simply not fit for purpose.

'Article 3 was a response to the horrors of Nazism. It is appalling that it is now being exploited by foreign terrorists to remain in Britain – including those who have been linked to terror groups such as IS and Al Qaeda.

'Having a country of origin with substandard healthcare and mental health services compared with the NHS should not be used by foreign terrorists to block deportation.'

India-Pakistan
PFI-Nepal Islami Sangh and the danger of Madrasas along Indo-Nepal border
[OneIndia] In a much needed exercise, the Uttar Pradesh government has begun tracking the funding source of Madrasas in the state. It was found that nearly 1,500 unrecognised Madrasas running along the India-Nepal border were being funded by unknown sources and the UP government has launched an exercise to track the same.

The survey found that these Madrasas are located in Balrampur, Shravasti, Maharajganj, Siddharthnagar, Bahraich and Lakhimpur Kheri districts. When asked about the source of funding, the state was told that they received zakat money from Kolkata, Chennai, Mumbai, Delhi and Hyderabad. The suspicion grew when the authorities did not find any record of the same.
Ahah! The plot thickens!
The move is a very important one as foreign funding to Madrasas is highly dangerous in terms of radicalisation.
Indeed. Many of our mosques in America have long been funded by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, their schools filled with textbooks produced by the kingdom’s own printers.
The funding for these unrecognised Madrasas in particular is a concern because they do not fall under the purview of the government or agencies. This would mean that they would put out the radical ideology of those funding them.

Back in 2001, it had come to the notice of the agencies that there was a spurt in the number of Madrasas thanks to foreign funding.
In those days Saudi Arabia, etc were keen on funding all sorts of jihadi ventures.
A state-wide survey conducted by the UP government found that 60 Madrasas in Prayagraj were running without obtaining permission or approval from the competent authority. Further it was found that Madrasas in Prayagraj had received 9.68 crore from foreign sources.
That sounds like an awful lot...
The UP government had said in 2022 that as many as 8,500 unrecognised Madrasas were operating in the state.

INFILTRATING THE MADRASAS:
Abhinav Pandya, a Cornell University graduate in public affairs tells OneIndia that the PFI penetrated all the Madrasas along the India-Nepal border from Uttarakhand to West Bengal. They are more active on the Nepal side of the border, where there is a Madrasa every ten kilometres.

Monitoring the Madrasas along the India-Nepal border is because most of them are connected with the PFI and its sister entity, the Islami Nepal Sangh.

The penetration into the Madrasas began from a few years back as the PFI was expecting to get banned. It got this information from its assets in the police, intelligence an other state institutions, Pandya also said.

THE FOREIGN FUNDED MADRASAS:
The foreign funded Madrasas are not only a concern in Uttar Pradesh, but in other parts of the country as well. An official explains to OneIndia that the drive by the UP government must be replicated in all states. It is important to bring radicalisation under check. Not just this, the Madrasas are also being used to convert people to Islam and in many cases it has been found that the foreign funds have been used for the same.

Further it has also been seen that these funds are used to publish and distribute with rabid material, aimed at radicalisation. However if these Madrasas continue to receive foreign funding, then it is extremely difficult for any state to streamline the education system.

In some cases, terror links too have been found. For instance recently a private Madrasa in Assam's Bongaigaon district was demolished over alleged terror links with the Al Qaeda in the Sub-Continent (AQIS). Following this, Assam's police chief, Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta told news hounds that to counter-radicalise Madrasas, over 100 small, private Madrasas have been merged with large ones. Small Madrasas with less than 50 students will be merged with the bigger ones, he said.

Mob lynches alleged blasphemer in Nankana Sahib
[GEO.TV] In a bloodcurdling incident in Punjab's Nankana Sahib, a raging mob of hundreds Saturday tortured a man to death after snatching him from a cop shoppe, where he was locked up for allegedly committing blasphemy
...the act of insulting or showing contempt or lack of reverence to a deity, or sacred objects, or toward something considered sacred or inviolable. Some religions consider it to be a crime. In Pakistain you can commit blasphemy by looking cross-eyed at a Koran...
As the mob was lynching the man — who was put behind bars for alleged blasphemy — Station House Officer (SHO) Warburton Feroze Bhatti and other police personnel escaped the scene to save their lives.

Residents of the area claimed that the man — who had returned after spending two years in jail — used to practice witchcraft by pasting his ex-wife's picture on holy papers.

"The mob stormed the cop shoppe and beat the man to death," local police front man Waqas Khalid told AFP.

"After killing him they tried to set his body ablaze," he added.

Khalid said authorities were working on identifying the attackers responsible for the man's death.

Videos shared on social media showed hundreds of youngsters besieging the police compound, with one man scaling a tall gate using a ladder and opening its lock.

The crowd then barged inside and smashed windows.

Taking notice of the incident, Punjab
1.) Little Orphan Annie's bodyguard
2.) A province of Pakistain ruled by one of the Sharif brothers
3.) A province of India. It is majority (60 percent) Sikh and Hindoo (37 percent), which means it has relatively few Moslem riots....

Inspector-General Dr Usman Anwar suspended the SHO and Nankana Sahib Circle Deputy Superintendent of Police Nawaz Waraq for their failure in preventing the situation from turning violent mostly peaceful.

Strict departmental and legal action will be taken against those responsible for the incident and the perpetrators of negligence, a statement posted by the Punjab police on Twitter read.
PM orders probe, caretaker CM seeks report

Later, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif ordered an investigation into the Warburton cop shoppe incident and asked why the police did not stop the violent mostly peaceful mob.

"The rule of law should be ensured. No one should be allowed to influence the law," he said.

Mohsin Naqvi, the caretaker chief minister of Punjab, has also sought a report from the IG on the incident, directing an investigation from every aspect.

He ordered immediate action against the culprits.

Meanwhile,
...back at the revival hall, the congregants were being herded into the paddy wagon...
Pakistain Ulema Council (PUC) Chairman Tahir Mehmood Ashrafi has condemned the incident, saying killing and burning someone accused of blasphemy was a cruel act.

"Inhuman torture and killing the person, accused of blaspheming the Holy Koran in #Nankana Sahib and attacking at the cop shoppe is regrettable and condemnable," he wrote on Twitter.

Islamic State praises PFI, SIMI and there is a reason for it
[OneIndia] The Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
has been singing praises of the banned PFI and SIMI. This is the second time that something of this sort is taking place in the past month.

In just a span of one month, the mouthpiece of the Islamic State, Voice of Khorasan has praised the Popular Front of India (PFI).
…the latest identity of Pakistan sock puppet National Development Front (NDF) and the banned Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI). They’re fond of IEDs, swords, Al Qaeda and Taliban propaganda, the perverse pleasures of Love Jihad, and have surprisingly well-trained connections with jihadis in Bangladesh and Pakistan...
Voice of Khorasan, an English language magazine which is published by the Afghanistan based, Islamic State in Khoisan Province (ISKP) said in its 20th edition also went on to praise the banned Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI). The article totted 'Crackdown on Popular Front of India: Lessons for Indian Moslems,' was published in a magazine of 45 pages last week. The publication went on to defend the arrests of the members of the outlawed Death Eater organizations, SIMI and PFI. The article also went on to label them innocents.

The paper also criticised the police administration's actions towards the PFI and SIMI. The magazine notes that during the past seventy years, the Hindu governments have targeted Moslems. Following this pattern the PFI activist muppets were arrested, the article noted.

The article then went on to praise the PFI by stating that it had made a name for itself as an organization which has been addressing the plight of the Moslems.

The Voice of Khorasan then went on to state that many PFI supporters have embraced the flag of Tawhid (Islamic monotheism) in many parts of the world, and many even gained Shahada (martyrdom).

The PFI was banned in 2022 while the SIMI was proscribed in 2002.

This is however not the first time that the Islamic State has praised the PFI. Even in the aftermath of the ban and recent arrests, the Islamic State has come out in support of the outfit.

The Islamic State by praising outfits such as the PFI and SIMI is looking to take the place of the two. It is appealing to the sympathisers of these groups to join is fold so that it can make its foothold in India. The Islamic State has made many efforts to set its footprint in India, but has failed completely. In this context the outfit is trying to make in-roads in India, an official OneIndia spoke with said.

The agencies had also learnt that many PFI supporters had joined the Islamic State., The PFI would look to make a comeback through its second rung leadership, while the Islamic State will try and take that space which is vacant as of now.

Hackers say they halted online broadcast of Iran president's speech
[Rudaw] Digital activist muppets supporting anti-government protests in Iran
...The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan. The abbreviation IRGC is the same idea as Stürmabteilung (or SA). The term Supreme Guide is a the modern version form of either Duce or Führer or maybe both...
said they hacked an online broadcast by state television

of a speech by President Ebrahim Raisi on Saturday marking the 1979 Islamic Revolution.

The Edalat-e Ali group posted a video of the purported interruption of Raisi's address on Twitter, in which it called on Iranians to withdraw their money from "corrupt" regime banks and to take to the streets next week.

"Death to Khamenei", "Death to the Islamic Revolution", and "Death to the Islamic republic", it said on Twitter.

"Many compatriots approached us and asked us to echo the call (for protests) on February 16," added the group, in its second such reported hacking of state television

Iran erupted into nationwide protests in September, after the death of 22-year-old Mahsa Amini following her arrest for an alleged breach of the Islamic republic's strict dress code for women.

The protests evolved into the biggest challenge for the holy manal leadership since the revolution, before subsiding at the end of the year in the face of a deadly crackdown.

The regime has sought to portray the protest movement as "riots" backed by its Western enemies including the United States, Israel and Britannia.

Speaking at a rally in Tehran's Azadi Square on Saturday to mark the anniversary, Raisi said people had gathered to renew their "allegiance" to the revolution.

Oslo-based group Iran Human Rights says the regime's security forces have killed at least 488 protesters in the crackdown, including 64 children and 39 women.

The non-governmental organization says thousands more have been arrested over the demonstrations and four have been executed, with at least another 107 facing the death penalty

As Iran celebrates 44 years since Islamic Revolution, Raisi claims protests defeated
[IsraelTimes] Pro-regime demonstrators chant ’down with Israel’ at Azadi Square, as Sejjil ballistic missiles and Shahed-136 drones put on display

Tens of thousands of Iranians rallied Saturday in Tehran and other major cities to mark the 44th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution, as their president said months-long protests had been defeated.

For the past two years, the 1979 overthrow of the Western-backed shah was commemorated mainly by Iranians who drove around cities in their cars or on cycle of violences due to COVID-19 restrictions.

But this year, waving flags, they erupted into the streets of Tehran on foot and converged on Azadi (Freedom) Square, one of the capital’s most prominent landmarks, despite chilly temperatures.

They chanted "Down with the US," "Down with Israel," "Down with the UK" and "Down with the traitor Al Saud," in reference to Saudi Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. Fifteen of the nineteen WTC hijackers were Saudis, and most major jihadi commanders were Saudis, to include Osama bin Laden. Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman quietly folded that tent in 2016, doing terrible things to the guys running it, and has since been dragging the kingdom into the current century...
People held up pictures of Iran’s Lord High Potentate and Supreme Leader of All He Surveys Ayatollah Ali Khamenei
...the very aged actual dictator of Iran, successor to Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini...
as well as the late ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, founder of the Islamic Theocratic Republic, and revered general Qasem Soleimani, killed in a US air strike on Baghdad airport in January 2020.

They also held placards reading "We stand to the end," "A united, strong and stable Iran" and "We obey the leader."

Sejjil ballistic missiles and Shahed-136 drones were on display around the square where Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi said people had gathered to renew their "allegiance" to the revolution.

"This pledge of allegiance is much greater than a vote" of confidence in the Islamic Theocratic Republic, said the ultra-conservative president.

Raisi also declared victory over the nationwide protest movement triggered by the death in jug of 22-year-old Mahsa Amini following her arrest for an alleged breach of Iran’s dress code for women.

’WOMAN, LIFE, FREEDOM’
Authorities say hundreds of people, including dozens of security personnel, have been killed and thousands arrested during the protests which they generally label as "riots."

The judiciary has sentenced 18 people to death in connection with the protests, according to an AFP tally based on official announcements.

Four people have been executed, triggering international outrage.

In his speech on Saturday, Raisi repeated the accusation that the protests were provoked and fuelled by the West.

"See what the enemies did in this one year and what conspiracies they organized? But the history-making nation of Iran
...They hate Jews Zionists Jews. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol...
recognized the evil hand of the enemy and shone brightly on the stage and defeated the enemy," he said.

"The issue of the enemy is neither women, nor life, freedom, human rights
...which are usually entirely different from personal liberty...
and nuclear [program] but rather they want to take away the independence, freedom and peaceful life of the Iranian nation," Raisi said.

"Woman, life, freedom" has been the main slogan of the protests triggered by the September 16 death of Amini, an Iranian woman of Kurdish origin.

State television said celebrations for the 44th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution were held in 1,400 cities and towns across the country, and aired footage of large rallies in Isfahan, Mashhad, Shiraz, and Tabriz.

The celebrations mark the day that the shah’s government fell 10 days after Shiite holy man Khomeini returned from exile.

Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi had already fled Iran in January 1979, after months of protests against his rule.

#1  Nobody ever burns pictures of Biden. It seems like he will never attain supervillain status among our enemies. He’s doing his best: blowing up pipelines, escalating wars with free tanks and ordering summary balloon executions. Still Regan remains Joker, Trump is at Riddler level and Margaret Thatcher might be Cat Woman. Joe has consistent henchman status and maybe tops out at King Tut.
