Machete attack suspect Trevor Bickford targeted NYPD as 'enemy of the state:'
[NYPOST] The 19-year-old alleged Islamic radical suspected in the New Year’s Eve machete attack on NYPD cops had specifically sought to target "a uniformed officer" or someone armed because he believed them to be an "enemy of the state," sources told The Post on Sunday.Trevor Bickford, of Wells, Maine, allegedly went to Midtown on Saturday night to assault coppers or "someone with a gun," the sources said he told the feds after his arrest.

The suspect allegedly said he’d hatched the plot as recently as Friday, according to sources.

Bickford "found religion" after his father’s overdose death in 2018 and became radicalized as recently as a month ago, according to sources.

He was already on an FBI
...Formerly one of the world's premier criminal investigation organizations, something for a nation to be proud of. Now it's a political arm of the Deep State oligarchy that is willing to trump up charges, suppress evidence, or take out insurance policies come election time...
terrorism watchlist after his mother and aunt tipped off the agency about his allegedly Death Eater views, the sources said.

Afghanistan
Daily Evacuation Brief January 3, 2023
[AfghanDigest] LAST 24 HOURS
  • ISIS-K CLAIMS RESPONSIBILITY FOR BOMBING OF TALIBAN CHECKPOINT NEAR AIRPORT – ISIS-K and its affiliates have claimed responsibility for the deadly attack near the military airport the other day. A few analysts noted the complexity of the attack and the choice of targets indicated they are gaining proficiency and confidence. The checkpoint that was targeted has long been considered a position of honor for the Taliban and has been habitually manned by more experienced Mujahadeen. The fact that ISIS-K was able to target it sends a powerful message.

  • TENSIONS WITH PAKISTAN CONTINUE TO RISE – Pakistan has clearly signaled that it plans to take action against the TTP in Afghanistan and the responses by the Taliban have served to ratchet up tensions between the two. While both countries say they prefer dialogue, the troop movements they are making on their respective sides of the border suggest they are planning for violence.

  • LITTLE PROGRESS IN TALKS BETWEEN THE TALIBAN AND UN OFFICIALS ABOUT WOMEN IN AID ROLES – Despite a couple of high-level visits, the Taliban have not shown any sign they plan to relent on the ban on women in humanitarian aid roles. A few mixed messages had been sent during the last week of 2022 but a source in the Ministry of Communication says the Taliban leadership has now flatly refused to discuss the matter openly and insists the laws must be followed. It was not clear if the Taliban is united on this stance or if the Kabul faction still supports the ban.

  • AMERICAN TEEN RESPONSIBLE FOR KNIFE ATTACKS ON POLICE IN NEW YORK CITY ADMIRED THE TALIBAN – Trevor Bickford, a 19-year-old man from Maine was shot after attacking several police officers in downtown New York City on New Year’s Eve. A diary found on Bickford contained references to joining the Taliban and wanting to die as a martyr. Nobody was killed in the rampage and Bickford is in a hospital recovering from his wounds.

NEXT 24 HOURS
AIR STRIKES FROM PAKISTAN POSSIBLE IN BORDER AREAS – A source in Afghanistan, but who has ties to sources in Pakistan says that air strikes are likely on suspected TTP hideouts within the next 24 to 48 hours. When pressed for locations, the source said that Kandahar and Paktia are likely candidates but that some sites of concern had been identified in Badakhshan as well. At-risk Afghans living in these areas should be prepared to take cover should an air campaign take place. Should the strikes occur, the border will likely be closed for an indeterminate amount of time.

Taliban (IEA) to Prosecute Afghan Media Outlets Operating from Abroad
We’ll do our best, but Afghanistan may become as much a news black hole as Turkey is now.
[KhaamaPress] The Taliban
...the Pashtun equivalent of men...
courts will soon announce its decision regarding the media outlets whose executives have fled the country and run the outlet from outside the country Afghanistan International reports.

Abdu Haq Hemad, director of media assessment at the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s ministry of information and culture has accused the media organizations of spreading propaganda against the ruling regime.

"A decision has been made regarding these media outlets. It is expected that the court’s decision will be announced in the near future," Hemad said. He further stated that "no law allows the executive of media outlets to operate from outside and promote propaganda against the regime."

This comes as the Taliban regime have already imposed tough restrictions on media organizations and news channels operating in Afghanistan. According to reports, media outlets operating inside the country cannot criticize the ruling regime and publish sensitive materials. Media freedom was restricted within the initial days of the Taliban’s return to power, followed by strict rules on female journalists and presenters while appearing live on news channels.

Since the return of the Taliban to power in August 2021, hundreds of media outlets including TV channels, radio stations, and news outlets closed their doors mostly due to conservative restrictions imposed by the current administration, lack of financial support and other economic related issues. As of now, some 165 radio stations and 55 TV channels are operating in Afghanistan.

Media organizations in Afghanistan had their golden days over the past twenty years. The fragile media industry experienced an unprecedented improvement under the democratic regimes of Afghanistan. Hundreds of thousands of young and passionate Afghan male and female journalists served as presenters, photographers, and content writers for these media outlets.

Hekmatyar: 'We Urge The Supporters Of Hizb-i-Islami To Prepare For Another War'
MEMRI] In his first sermon following the failed coordinated attack on his party's headquarters in Kabul, which also hosts a mosque where the former warlord delivers sermons every Friday, Hekmatyar said: "We urge the supporters of Hizb-e-Islami to prepare for another war. The heavy trust [responsibility] of this jihad is on your shoulders."

"You are capable of getting the nation rid of this criminal, country-seller, traitor and faith-seller group and accepting [this responsibility]," said the former prime minister, who is known as "the Butcher of Kabul" for HIA's attacks on rival factions during the civil war in the 1990s that followed the withdrawal of Soviet forces from Afghanistan.

In the sermon, a recording of which is available on YouTube, Hekmatyar tells his party's supporters and members that Allah is with them, and they will succeed in the new war as they had succeeded in the previous two wars.[1] "We believe that the Hizb-e-Islami mujahideen can defeat this disgraced enemy by having trust in Allah. The same enemy that the others have failed to fight and defeat," he said.

Hekmatyar criticized the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (the ruling Taliban
...Arabic for students...
jihadi organization) for closing a Hizb-e-Islami-affiliated university in Kabul and forcing its students to shift to other universities, along with cutting off the supply of electricity to the HIA headquarters, mosque, television, and other facilities provided by the previous government.

On December 2, 2022, two button men, each wearing 11-kilogram explosive vests, attacked the central office of Hizb-e-Islami Afghanistan in Kabul, seeking to reach the mosque inside the compound where Hekmatyar and other leaders of his party pray on Friday.

The Hizb-e-Islami emir said security guards at his headquarters killed both the jacket wallahs, adding that preliminary investigations revealed that both the attackers were from Tajikistan and a black flag of Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
(ISIS) was recovered from the bombers' controller.

#1  Hekmatyar, a Kharoti Pashtun born in Kunduz in 1947, formed the Hezb-e-Islami while in exile in Pakistan in the nineteen seventies. Dominated by Pashtun from eastern Afghanistan, it was the largest of the mujahideen forces in the war with the Soviets. Years later Hekmatyar has been and remains closely tied to the Pakistan military, the Jamaat i Islami (Islamic Block, or JI) of Pakistan, the Islamic Renaissance Party of Tajikistan, and to Islamist entities attempting to infiltrate Kashmir. He has opposed the Taliban, but he remains too powerful to be easily eliminated.

Home Front: WoT
Robert Spencer: Indiana University Hosts Deported Jihad Mastermind as Featured Speaker, History of Moslem Art Prof Fired for Showing Students Moslem Art
[PJMedia] In yet another sign of the thoroughgoing corruption of American academia, Indiana University’s McKinney School of Law and its Moslem Philanthropy Initiative recently co-sponsored a conference with a man who admitted to being a key member of a jihad terror group and was accordingly deported from the United States. According to an Investigative Project on Terrorism report Tuesday, and to his great credit (although he was acting after a barrage of complaints), Amir Pasic, dean of the Lilly Family School of Philanthropy at Indiana University, apologized for the university’s role in showcasing this terror leader, Sami al-Arian. Pasic did explain, however, that the university had hosted al-Arian because he had done such great work combating "Islamophobia
...the irrational fear that Moslems will act the way they usually do...
." As "Islamophobia" is a manipulative propaganda term designed to inhibit criticism of jihad violence and Sharia oppression, this is hardly reassuring.

Sami al-Arian pleaded guilty back in 2006 to a charge of "conspiracy to make or receive contributions of funds to or for the benefit of Paleostinian Islamic Jihad
...created after many members of the Egyptian Moslem Brotherhood decided the organization was becoming too moderate. Operations were conducted out of Egypt until 1981 when the group was exiled after the assassination of President Anwar Sadat. They worked out of Gaza until they were exiled to Lebanon in 1987, where they clove tightly to Hezbollah. In 1989 they moved to Damascus, where they remain a subsidiary of Hezbollah...
, a Specially Designated Terrorist" organization. He was then deported from the United States, but he remains a darling of American academia. Back in 2021, according to JNS, al-Arian organized a conference that was co-sponsored by the University of Denver’s Josef Korbel School for International Studies. Conference speakers denounced Israel as the "apartheid Jewish Zionist colonial state" and called for its eradication. The program, JNS reported, was "replete with Paleostinian propaganda, revisionist history, and blatant anti-Semitism and anti-Israel vitriol."

At that conference, Paleostinian Islamic Jihad’s al-Arian denounced Israel in the hysterically false terms that are now becoming familiar in America thanks to the likes of Reps. Ilhan Omar
...Somali-American Dem representative from Minnesota. She was apparently married to her brother and may be her own grandmaw on her mother's side...
(D-Mogadishu) and Rashida Tlaib (D-Ramallah): "There is no doubt we are talking about a settler, colonialist movement. What we see here today is an attempt to depopulate the indigenous people, and bring in as many Jews from around the world and try to bring a system that is properly being identified now as apartheid. There is no doubt about this."

Israel, al-Arian thundered, was a "racist movement," a "Zionist onslaught" that was directed toward replacing the "indigenous people." The solution? Israel’s total destruction: "the essence of the struggle should be to dismantle this structure."

Neither Indiana University nor the University of Denver can plausibly claim that they didn’t know what they were getting into. al-Arian has been quite clear about his views for decades. Back in 1991, during a speech in reliably Democrat Chicago, aka The Windy City or Mobtown
...home of Al Capone, the Chicago Black Sox, a succession of Daleys, Barak Obama, and Rahm Emmanuel...
, al-Arian screamed: "The Koran is our constitution. Jihad is our path ... Victory to Islam... Death to Israel... Revolution... revolution till the victory."

Showing he hadn’t changed, in mid-December 2020, al-Arian spoke via Zoom at the Fourth International Conference on the Moslem Ummah. There al-Arian also called for "defeating and dismantling the Zionist project," adding: "We cannot pursue an ummah project without actually attaining our real independence. We cannot attain our real independence without dealing with the problem of Israel....As long as Israel exists, the ummah will stay weak and fragmented, and disunited and divided and dependent and under control."

Numerous American academics and other Leftists have counted al-Arian as a friend for years and were anxious to portray him as a victim of "Islamophobia." Before al-Arian pleaded guilty, he was dismissed from his post at the University of South Florida, whereupon Georgetown professor John Esposito claimed that al-Arian was merely falling victim to "anti-Arab and anti-Moslem bigotry."

Al-Arian himself pushed all the right buttons as well, declaring: "I’m a minority. I’m an Arab, I’m Paleostinian. I’m a Moslem. That’s not a popular thing to be these days. Do I have rights, or don’t I have rights?" In March 2002, Nicholas Kristof went to bat for the professor in the New York Times

... which still proudly displays Walter Duranty's Pulitzer prize...

: "The point is not whether one agrees with Professor al-Arian, a rumpled academic with a salt-and-pepper beard who is harshly critical of Israel (and also of repressive Arab countries) — but who also denounces terrorism, promotes inter-faith services with Jews and Christians, and led students at his Islamic school to a memorial service after 9/11 where they all sang ’God Bless America.’ No, the larger point is that a university, even a country, becomes sterile when people are too intimidated to say things out of the mainstream."

Re-painting History: University Fires Professor for Sharing Image of Muhammed in Islamic Arts Class

[PJMedia] Try to figure this one out: A professor was fired for Islamophobia
...the irrational fear that Moslems will act the way they usually do...
after he shared a Moslem image of Islam’s most important religious figure in a class on Islamic art. If that doesn’t make sense to you, a Minnesota university would like to reeducate you.

In the earlier days of Islam, depictions of humans, including the Prophet Muhammed, were not taboo. Later, Islam turned iconoclastic and images of Muhammed — particularly his face — were condemned. This would not seem to have any application to a professor teaching American students about Islam and using a medieval image of the Moslem prophet to do so. But St. Paul, Minnesota’s Hamline University fired its Islamic arts instructor for showing his students an image of Mohammed from pre-iconoclast times, according to both The Siasat Daily and Jihad Watch.

For daring to show Islamic art in his Islamic art class, the unnamed instructor was reportedly accused by Hamline administrators of being "hateful, intolerant and Islamophobic" and hurting "the feeling of the Moslems" because of the ban on representations of Muhammed within modern Islam.

When I took a college class on Islamic art, my instructor showed us more than one depiction of Muhammed. To leave them out would be to erase an entire era of Islamic art — and not being Moslems, we were not required to rewrite (or re-paint) history. But Hamline’s student newspaper The Oracle called out the university’s instructor in a November issue, Siasat said, reporting the episode under "incidents of hate and discrimination." The university’s "associate vice president of inclusive excellence" — whatever that means — called sharing the image in class "undeniably inconsiderate, disrespectful and Islamophobic."

Siasat explained, "The artwork that landed the instructor into trouble depicts Prophet Muhammad receiving his first Koranic revelation. It is alleged that the painting of Prophet Muhammad is usually part of the Islamic art history classes in many universities across the world." I can testify to that from my own experience.

I guess Hamline, a private liberal arts institution founded in 1824, is more interested in woke pandering to authoritarian Sharia law than in educating their students.

#1  Background: In the 1990s Sami al-Arian was under federal investigation. A professor of computer science at the University of South Florida, he was born in Kuwait. He entered the USA in 1975 and completed a doctorate in computer science a decade later. A fanatical advocate of Palestinian causes, he was instrumental in founding the Islamic Committee for Palestine (ICP) in 1990, which he located in Florida. Al-Arian himself was the organizer of two major conferences: one held in Chicago in 1990 and the other at St. Louis in 1992. Both featured a number of Islamist luminaries. The Third Annual Conference held in December 1990 at the McCormick Center Hotel in Chicago is believed to be the first occasion that Sudan's notorious Islamist leader Hasan al-Turabi and al-Arian met. At that time the driving force behind the ICP "charities" was professor Ramadan Abdullah Shallah, a Palestinian, who served as director from 1991-1995. He next surfaced in Damascus, Syria, and there assumed the leadership of Palestine Islamic Jihad. Meanwhile, the FBI noose closed around Sami's neck.

India-Pakistan
Pakistan hopes to open infiltration routes by striking terror in J&K’s Rajouri
[OneIndia] The forward defence locations along the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir
...a disputed territory lying between India and Pakistain. After partition, the Paks grabbed half of it and call it Azad (Free) Kashmir. The remainder they refer to as "Indian Occupied Kashmir". They have fought four wars with India over it, the score currently 4-0 in New Delhi's favor. After 72 years of this nonsense, India cut the Gordian knot in 2019, removing the area's special status, breaking off Ladakh as a separate state, and allowing people from other areas to settle (or in the case of the Pandits, to resettle) there....
's Rajouri are being targeted by Pak bully boyz to help infiltration bids into India.

Reports said that there are four terror launching pads on the Pakistain side near the Rajouri sector. Around 25-30 bully boyz are planning on infiltrating India using these launch pads at Lanjote, Nikail, Kotle and Khuiretta, the report also said.

On January 1 and 2, there were two major incidents reported in Rajouri. While in the first one bully boyz opened fire and killed four people, the next day a kaboom was reported at the nearby site.

The report said that the Intelligence assessment said that the bully boyz of Lashkar-e-Tayiba and Jaish-e-Mohammad
...literally Army of Mohammad, a Pak-based Deobandi terror group founded by Maulana Masood Azhar in 2000, after he split with the Harkat-ul-Mujaheddin. In 2002 the government of Pervez Musharraf banned the group, which changed its name to Khaddam ul-Islam and continued doing what it had been doing before without missing a beat...
had set up these launchpads and are trying to infiltrate their bully boyz into Jammu and Kashmir. In a bid to do so, they want to target civilians so that it would distract the security forces, following which they could carry out the infiltrations.

The number of instructions in Jammu and Kashmir have gone down considerably. The annual 2021-2022 report of the Union Home Ministry said that 73 terrorist infiltration attempts were reported both through the International Border and Line of Control in 2021. This is in fact the lowest in five years.

In 2017 the number of infiltration bids were at 419 and in the following year it dropped to 328. This was largely because the Centre and the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir adopted a multi-pronged approach to counter infiltration.

However there has been plenty of frustration among these terror groups owing to these developments. This has in turn led them to targeting civilians. If one were to notice, the year 2022 witnessed civilian killings and this was part of the psy-ops to drive fear. In Rajouri the plan is create unrest so that the paths to infiltrate into Jammu and Kashmir opens up.

Three attackers involved in attempt on Imran’s life, Punjab JIT concludes
[Dawn] The Joint Investigation Team (JIT) probing the Wazirabad attack on PTI chairman Imran Khan
...aka The Great Khan, who is the lightweight's lightweight...
has reportedly found that the attack was carried out from three different shooting sites.

An official privy to the findings said shots were fired by ’three unknown shooters, from unknown weapons’ from a considerable height other than the gun attack carried out by the suspect, Naveed Meher, arrested from the spot
on a grassy knoll.
The JIT in question was formed by the Punjab government and, led by Lahore Capital City Police Officer Additional IG Ghulam Mahmood Dogar, only comprises police officials from the province rather than personnel from across the various law enforcement and intelligence agencies.

"The JIT claimed, in its findings, that Imran Khan was hit by three bullets on the container-mounted-truck during the PTI’s Azadi March in Wazirabad," the official said.

He said the findings of the JIT were almost complete and a report would be issued soon after receiving some pending reports from the Punjab Forensic Science Agency (PFSA).

To a question, the official source said the JIT findings confirmed that no injury was reported from the official weapons of the police personnel deployed at the venue of the rally in Wazirabad. The forensic analysis of all the official weapons of the police personnel were carried out by the PFSA. He said the JIT also noticed some mismanagement regarding the security arrangements at the PTI’s march in Wazirabad.

Following the initial reports of the security lapse by the police, the Punjab
1.) Little Orphan Annie's bodyguard
2.) A province of Pakistain ruled by one of the Sharif brothers
3.) A province of India. It is majority (60 percent) Sikh and Hindoo (37 percent), which means it has relatively few Moslem riots....

government has formed another high-level inquiry committee, which is separately investigating the matter, the official source said.

Quoting the JIT report, he said 13 people, including former prime minister Imran Khan, suffered gunshot wounds in the multiple shootings during the Wazirabad attack.

About Naveed Meher, the official said it had also been established in the JIT probe that he had fired shots on Imran’s truck.

Earlier, PTI big shot Musaddiq Abbasi had alleged the polygraph (lie detector) tests of Meher revealed that he was properly trained to carry out such attacks.

The FIR of the incident was registered on Nov 7 while the JIT, constituted under the Anti-Terrorism Act 1997, was notified on Nov 3.

Pakistan Imposes New Restrictions on Afghan Commodities
[ToloNews] The Joint Chamber of Afghanistan-Pakistain Commerce on Monday said that Islamabad has imposed new restrictions on the transit of Afghan commodities, creating hurdles in the way of traders to transfer their products via Bloody Karachi
...formerly the capital of Pakistain, now merely its most important port and financial center. It is among the largest cities in the world, with a population of 18 million, most of whom hate each other and many of whom are armed and dangerous...
port.

"The problem is in invoice. The Pak government has increased the invoice of commodities such as tires, electric devices, medicines, oil and sugar," said Najibullah Safi, head of the Joint Chamber.

"This action is not based on international norms. No one has the right to ask for invoice from us," said Mohammad Younus Momand, acting head of the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment (ACCI).

According to the ACCI, Afghanistan exports 2 million tons of fresh fruits and other materials via Afghanistan to the Central Asian Nations and that the new restrictions will damage the transit and businesses between the two countries.

"They also import gas and oil and cotton as well steel from Central Asia. It will affect Pakistain itself and the Central Asians," said Khanjan Alokozai, a member of the ACCI.

Meanwhile,
...back at the the conspirators' cleverly concealed hideout Montefiore's foot was still stuck and the hound had completely soaked his uniform with slobber...
the Ministry of Industry and Commerce also said a delegation of the Islamic Emirate has travelled to Islamabad to solve the issue.

"They must not put pressure on our invwstors and private sectors. Otherwise, we are obliged to think of alternative. We are trying to solve this and our representatives have gone to discuss it," said Akhundzada Abdul Salam Jawad, a front man for the MoIC.

Afghanistan imports its commodities from China, Indonesia, India and European countries via Karachi port.

Pakistan is being attacked by Afghan soil: Defence Minister
[KhaamaPress] Despite an agreement with the acting Kabul administration, Afghanistan’s soil is being utilized against Pakistain, claimed Khawaja Asif, the defence minister.

The minister said on Monday that the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan assured Islamabad that their land would not be used against Pakistain. This is the second high official to accuse Pakistain is being attacked from Afghan soil.

Earlier on Sunday, the interior minister of Pakistain urged the IEA that TTP sanctuaries are in Afghanistan; Islamabad may take action if Afghanistan is not cooperating.

Iraq
Former US officer shares new details about Saddam Hussein's capture
[Shafaq News] A US special operations navy seal shared new details about his team’s capture of Saddam Hussein in an interview nearly two decades after the secret mission.

Retired Army Master General Sergeant Kevin Holland said his Delta Force team told the former Iraqi president and dictator that "President Bush sends his regards" when they pulled him out of a hole where he’d been hiding underground in 2003.

Holland described the mission on a Dec. 7 episode of a podcast hosted by a Navy seal veteran called "Danger Close."

He said his elite team received "human intel" that led them to a hole in the ground in a small agricultural town in Iraq.

The hole was covered with a layer of leaves and sand, and plugged with styrofoam to obscure its location. It had a small pipe sticking up to allow oxygen to flow, Holland said.

He and his squadron uncovered and unplugged the hole and saw it was lined with bricks like someone was hiding in it. They threw a grenade into it and then heard a voice speaking Arabic that gradually grew louder.

"Then hands come out of the hole and a big bushy head of hair and then we grab him and jerk him out — and it [was] like ’well, that’s him,'" Holland said.

He said the moment was surreal added despite having gotten a tip that Hussein was taking cover in the hole.

Holland recalled one of his fellow squad members who helped pull out the deposed Iraqi president saying "Holy cow, it’s him" in shock.

Hussein was armed with a Glock 18 so another Delta Force member — who Holland described only as "a big Texan" — "nails him in the mouth" to get the gun away, he said. He added that President Bush now has that gun.

The dictator then tried to plead with the American team.

"He just said he was the president of Iraq and he’s ready to negotiate," Holland said. "He said that in English."

"We’re like ’that time’s passed, brother."

The highly-honored veteran said he could sense Hussein was evil from just his presence.

"You could feel he was just an evil guy. He had this presence about him that was very unnerving," Holland said.

abuse accusations, including an estimated 250,000 murders.

After his capture, he was transferred to the custody of the Iraqi interim government. He was tried and convicted by an Iraqi court of crimes against humanity for his involvement in a 1982 mass killing of sock puppets of the Medes and the Persians.

He was sentenced to death by hanging and executed on Dec. 30, 2006.
