Two U.S Navy sailors missing off coast of Somalia: Central Command
[USNInews] Two Navy sailors are missing at sea off the coast of Somalia, U.S. Central Command said via a statement Friday.

Search and rescue operations are currently ongoing, according to the statements. Additional details, including the ship the sailors were on or their names, have not yet been released. The sailors were forward-deployed to U.S. 5th Fleet, according to the statement.

The U.S. has been operating more ships in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden over the last two months following a steady steam of attacks from Houthi forces in Yemen starting on Oct. 17.

Here’s the complete Central Command statement:

On the evening of January 11, two U.S. Navy Sailors were reported missing at sea while conducting operations off the coast of Somalia. Search and rescue operations are currently ongoing to locate the two sailors. For operational security purposes, we will not release additional information until the personnel recovery operation is complete.

Out of respect for the families affected, we will not release further information on the missing personnel at this time.

The sailors were forward-deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet (C5F) area of operations supporting a wide variety of missions.

Terrorists Kidnap Several Residents During Attack On Abuja Community
[TWITTER]

Some button men have attacked Kawu community in the Bwari Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and kidnapped an undisclosed number of residents, SaharaReporters has learnt.

It was learnt that the incident happened in the early hours of Thursday.

The button men were said to have stormed the palace of the district head, Alhaji Abdurrahman Danjuma Ali in large numbers and kidnapped his son and several others.

However,
it was a brave man who first ate an oyster...
a police source who confirmed the incident to SaharaReporters on Friday said the button men came in large numbers, attacked Kawu village, and kidnapped several people.

"The button men came in large numbers and attacked Kawu village, and kidnapped people. Presently we can’t ascertain the number of the people kidnapped," the police source said.

SaharaReporters had reported that two siblings of the Chairman of the Bwari Area Council in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, John Gabaya, were among the scores of residents kidnapped when bandidos invaded some communities in the council.

The bandidos have reached across to some of the affected families, demanding millions of naira as ransom.

SaharaReporters reported on January 4, 2024, that the bandidos attacked some communities around the Bwari Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and kidnapped an undisclosed number of residents on Wednesday, January 3.

The bandidos were said to have stormed the communities and attacked residents unhindered a few days after a series of attacks on Garam, a community that shares a boundary with Bwari in FCT.

The hoodlums also extended the attack to Zuma in neighbouring Niger State.

Nigerian Air Force Airstrikes Reportedly Kill 3 ISWAP Commanders, Other Fighters In Borno
[PUBLISH.TWITTER]

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai has reportedly killed three commanders of the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
of West Africa Province (ISWAP), and several other fighters in the Marte and Kukawa areas of Borno State.

The ISWAP commanders killed by the NAF Arclight airstrike
...KABOOM!...
s on Wednesday include Abou Maimuna, Abou Zahra and Commander Saleh.

A counter-insurgency expert focused on the Lake Chad region, Zagazola Makama, reports that the operations were coordinated by the new Air Component Commander of Operation Hadin Kai, Air Commodore UU Idris, after NAF Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) aircraft spotted the gunnies moving in a canoe.

Makama reports that intelligence sources said that the fighters were killed in successive strikes by the attack aircraft as they attempted to flee the location.

Sources confirmed that the three ISWAP Commanders and some of their lieutenants on the canoe were killed during the strikes while other strikes were carried out around Ali Sherifti or Kwatan Shalla around Kukawa axis where another unconfirmed number of ISWAP bad boyz were potted.

#1  For some reason, my comment went missing. Maybe a database error.Let's try it again:
For anyone wondering why this is all happening, the Houthi attacks on ships in the Red Sare a response to Israeli crimes against humanity in Gaza. Also unmentioned is the fact that the strikes took place after the first day of proceedings in the International Court of Justice in which Israel stands accused by South Africa of committing a genocide in Gaza. This explains the timing of Biden's response.

So the US and the UK just bombed the poorest country i~n the middle east for trying to stop a genocide. Not only that, they bombed the very same country in which they just spent years backing Saudi Arabia’s genocidal atrocities which killed hundreds of thousands of people between 2015 and 2022 in an unsuccessful bid to stop the Houthis from taking power.

#15  Sorry to keep harping on math again. Each of these ships has 90 vertical launch cells (270 total). Collectively they fired 80 tomahawks in 24 hours. That leaves at best 190 loaded cells. Let’s be kind and say 5% offline for maintenance and 5% expended on surface to air shots already. That’d leave about 170 cells loaded. Those will be a mix of surface to air, anti-radiation, close defense and tomahawks etc. The cells cannot be reloaded at sea - at a pre-determined level the ships need to leave the area and go to a port where munitions are prepositioned for reloading (Djibouti, Bahrain, Diego, etc.). Looks like those three ships have one more surge firing available before they need to consider the number of active cells remaining

...a Zaidi Shia insurgent group operating in Yemen. They have also been referred to as the Believing Youth. Hussein Badreddin al-Houthi is said to be the spiritual leader of the group and most of the military leaders are his relatives. The legitimate Yemeni government has accused the them of having ties to the Iranian government. Honest they did. The group has managed to gain control over all of Saada Governorate and parts of Amran, Al Jawf and Hajjah Governorates. Its slogan is God is Great, Death to America™, Death to Israel, a curse on the Jews They like shooting off... ummm... missiles that they would have us believe they make at home in their basements. On the plus side, they did murder Ali Abdullah Saleh, which was the only way the country was ever going to be rid of him...

...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of...
, the American military says, adding the latest action aimed to degrade the rebel movement’s ability to attack maritime vessels.

"This strike was conducted by the USS Carney (DDG 64) using Tomahawk Land Attack Missiles and was a follow-on action on a specific military target associated with strikes taken on Jan. 12 designed to degrade the Houthi’s ability to attack maritime vessels, including commercial vessels," the US Central Command says in a statement on X, formerly Twitter.

Gun-wielding protesters scream 'America is the Devil' and trample on flaming Israeli flags as tens of thousands pack streets in Yemen and Iran after UK joined US airstrikes on Houthi rebels - amid fears war will now spread across Middle East
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] Gun-wielding protesters today screamed 'America is the Devil' and trampled on flaming Israeli flags as tens of thousands of furious demonstrators packed the streets of Yemen and Iran after the UK and US launched airstrikes on Houthi targets.

British and American fighter jets and warships launched more than 100 precision missiles at over 60 targets in Houthi-held territory in Yemen early this morning in response to the rebels attacking merchant ships in the Red Sea for months.

But the Houthi rebels have now vowed to retaliate over the bombardment, with rebel leaders saying the UK and US must 'prepare to pay a heavy price' for their 'blatant' aggression amid fears the attacks could trigger a wider war in the Middle East.

Indeed, anger has spread across the region with hundreds of thousands of furious protesters descending onto streets in Yemen and Tehran chanting slogans calling the US 'the Devil' and burning Israeli and American flags.

Screaming Yemenis raised their guns in the air as Houthi leader Mohammen Ali al-Houthi told the crowd in the city of Sanna that the strikes were 'terrorism' and 'the United States is the Devil'.

'We did not attack the shores of America, nor did we move in the American islands, nor did we attack them. Your strikes on our country are terrorism,' said Al-Houthi as he raised his gun in the air.

'They are terrorists and they are amazing at lying to the people of the world, but the awareness of the Yemeni people is a different awareness. Do you, Yemeni, think that America is defending itself or is it a terrorist?'

It comes as Turkey's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan furiously condemned the strikes in a statement this morning, accusing the UK and US of turning the Red Sea into a 'sea of blood'.

But Downing Street rebuffed the criticism with a spokesperson for Prime Minister Rishi Sunak bit back: 'We wouldn't agree with that. This was limited and targeted strikes in response to aggression.

Caribbean-Latin America
CRACKDOWN: Mexican Cops Detain 40 Chinese Migrants Heading to U.S. Border
[Breitbart] Mexican authorities detained 40 Chinese migrants who were traveling by bus in southern Mexico on their way north with the goal of reaching the U.S. border. The detention came on the same day that authorities also detained 180 migrants from Central and South America in another location in an apparent crackdown on migrants trying to reach its northern border.

The detention took place earlier this week in the state of Oaxaca, where agents with Mexico’s National Migration Institute (INM) stopped a bus in the town of Tlacolula and found 40 migrants, including a family of 6 who were all from China.

Authorities did not specify if the group had travel permits or how they entered the country but claimed that they took the Chinese migrants into custody at their INM offices.

The detention of the 40 Chinese migrants came on the same day that INM agents and federal authorities detained 182 migrants from Guatemala and Ecuador that had been stuffed into a bus. That incident occurred in the state of Veracruz, along one of the highways connecting with the state of Puebla. There, authorities checked one bus and found 182 migrants, which included unaccompanied children, family units, and single adult men and women.

Authorities took the migrants to an INM station and turned the bus driver to federal authorities.

The crackdown comes at a time when tensions run high along the U.S.-Mexico border over the record-setting number of migrants crossing the border illegally and then requesting asylum or other protective measures. U.S. politicians have harshly criticized Mexican officials for helping fuel the ongoing migrant crisis by issuing travel permits to migrants headed north and allowing caravans to move through their country.

Breitbart Texas reported that during the first three and one-half months, Border Patrol agents apprehended a record-shattering 16,000 Chinese migrants who illegally entered the U.S. between ports of entry.

A resident of the Rostov region convicted of trying to join Syrian militants
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[KavkazUzel] The court sentenced Islam Turunov, a resident of the Rostov region, to seven years in prison, finding him guilty of justifying terrorism and attempting to join the militants of a terrorist organization in Syria.

As the "Caucasian Knot" wrote, in September 2023, a court in Rostov-on-Don sentenced a resident of Dagestan to five years in prison, finding him guilty of transferring money to the terrorist organization Hayat Tahrir al-Sham.

The Southern District Military Court found Islam Turunov, a resident of the Rostov region, guilty of attempting to travel to Syria to join the banned terrorist organization Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, the press service of the regional FSB directorate reported.

“From April 17, 2022, Islam Turunov began active preparations to join the Hayat Tahrir al-Sham organization in Syria. He searched for persons who would assist in transferring to the territory controlled by the terrorist organization in transit through Turkey, and corresponded with its participants.”, - Interfax-South quotes the department's message.

Also, according to the court, Turunov posted publications on social networks containing signs of propaganda and justification of the ideology of terrorism.

The court sentenced him to seven years in a maximum security colony with the first two years to be served in prison, the agency writes.

Belgian police stop bus after passenger reports hearing talk of planned terror attack
[IsraelTimes] Vehicle coming from La Belle France pulled over, three people arrested and all passengers questioned.

Belgian police stopped a bus coming from La Belle France on Thursday after a passenger reported a conversation about a possible terror attack, officials said.

The bus, run by the company Flixbus and operating a service between the northern French city of Lille and Brussels, was halted in the town of Wetteren, next to Ghent, a spokeswoman for the East Flanders prosecutors’ office told AFP.

Police arrested three passengers and were to question all those on board to determine if the suspect conversation was substantiated, she said.

A front man for Justice Minister Paul Van Tigchelt said the passenger had overheard a suspected "terrorist conversation" and alerted police who stopped the bus and inspected it.

The federal prosecutors’ office said it was not treating the incident as a terrorist case for the moment.

Belgium’s official Coordination Unit for Threat Analysis said it was not raising the national terrorism alert level above its current status of "serious."

Belgian police and security services are on heightened vigilance after the country faced recent Islamist attacks.

Addressing a presser, CTD Superintendent of Police (SP) Najam-ul-Hussain announced the arrest of two suspected suicide bombers affiliated with ISIS Khorasan from the Matni area.

He said that the apprehended forces of Evil were planning suicide kabooms targeting key political figures.

According to the SP, the arrested individuals were plotting a suicide attack on Fazl. Furthermore, it was disclosed that the forces of Evil had intentions to target the ANP leader through a suicide kaboom.

The arrested suspects had reportedly visited the JUI-F’s center and investigations revealed that they had undergone training in the Paktia region of Afghanistan.

During the security operation, authorities recovered suicide jackets, three hand grenades, and propaganda material associated with ISIS. The bomb disposal unit (BDU) has successfully neutralised the weapons and bombs.

The SP disclosed that the outlawed organization had previously been linked to assassinations of individuals representing various schools of thought in the region six months ago.

In a related development, authorities have made progress in identifying the individual responsible for planting a bomb on the Warsak Road. SP CTD said that the arrest of the terrorist involved in the Warsak Road kaboom was imminent.

Security forces neutralise two terrorists in North Waziristan IBO
[GEO.TV] As the country battles the scourge of terrorism, security forces Friday bumped off two bandidos snuffies in an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in North Wazoo, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement.

As per the military’s media wing, the IBO — conducted on reports of terrorists’ presence — resulted in an intense exchange of fire.

During the conduct of the operation, two bandidos snuffies identified as Abdullah Khadri and Khalid alias "Janan" were sent to hell, the statement added.

Israeli hurt in West Bank shooting; 3 Palestinian attackers killed by troops, IDF says
[IsraelTimes] Cell opens fire at troops patrolling in Adora; M16, knives, pickaxe, Molotov cocktails found on terrorists’ bodies; footage shows them crawling under settlement outer perimeter fence

A man was wounded in a shooting attack on Friday evening in the southern West Bank settlement of Adora.

After a brief manhunt, the three Palestinians who carried out the attack were killed by security forces, the military said. The Israel Defense Forces said in a statement that the attackers opened fire at troops conducting a patrol in Adora.

One Israeli, aged 34, was hurt in the attack.

The Magen David Adom ambulance service said the victim was shot in the leg and was in good-to-moderate condition. He was conscious when taken to hospital.

The IDF said troops chased after the attackers, and “during searches, three terrorists were identified and eliminated by security forces,” apparently in an industrial area close to the settlement.

Surveillance footage obtained by the Kan public broadcaster apparently showed the terrorists breaching the outer perimeter of the industrial area, crawling through a hole in the fence or underneath it. An M16, a number of knives, a pickaxe and Molotov cocktails were apparently found on the bodies of the terrorists.

The military said troops were continuing to search the settlement.

The IDF Home Front Command ordered residents of Adora to remain in their homes and lock their doors and windows until further notice.

Security chiefs have reportedly warned Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu several times this month that the West Bank is on the brink of a major eruption in violence. The heightened concern comes on the heels of Israel’s withholding of hundreds of millions of dollars in tax revenues from the Palestinian Authority, in addition to refusing to allow some 150,000 Palestinian workers to return to their jobs in Israel and the settlements, the report said, noting Netanyahu’s refusal to hold security cabinet votes to reverse both decisions amid pressure from his far-right coalition partners.
Once ever you start paying Danegeld, you never get rid of the Dane. Honestly, Mr. Smartypants Command, if the Palestinians feel no consequences for misbehaving, why should they stop?
“We may end up with a third Intifada [in the West Bank] because of the discontent resulting from the economic difficulty and lack of entry of workers to Israel,” the IDF commanders were quoted as saying.
Why should Israelis pay to be surrounded by people who cheered the Hamas massacre, whose government supports the idea while wishing they’d had the courage to do it first? If the Palestinians wish to hate, let them do it for free.
The network added that the military’s assessment was shared by the Shin Bet security service.
There’s no more road to kick this can down, guys. I suggest you start thinking outside the box.
Update from the Times of Israel at 8:30 a.m. ET:
The three Palestinian terrorists who attacked the southern West Bank settlement of Adora are teenagers with no prior security offenses, the Shin Bet security agency says.

The agency identifies the trio, from the nearby town of Idna, as family members Udai Abu Jahisha, 16, Muhammad Arafat Abu Jahisha, 16, and Ismail Abu Jahisha, 19.

“The three have no previous arrests or security background,” the Shin Bet says.

The Palestinian Authority health ministry says it was notified of their deaths, indicating the bodies are being held by Israeli authorities.

IDF says Hamas commandos slain; UN pans ‘systematic’ refusal of access to north Gaza

humanitarian office said Israeli authorities were systematically denying it access to northern Gaza to deliver aid and munitions and that this had significantly hindered the humanitarian operation there.

"The operations in the north have become increasingly more complicated," said Andrea De Domenico, head of office for the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) in the Occupied Paleostinian Territories. "We have systematic refusal from the Israeli side of our effort to get there, to access the north."
It’s a war zone, guys. Wiser to stay out from underfoot until the battle is finished, since you international types object so to being wounded or killed.
Israeli authorities and COGAT — an Israeli Defence Ministry agency tasked with coordinating aid deliveries into Paleostinian territories — did not immediately respond to requests for comment. Israel has previously denied blocking the entry of aid.
Israel has repeatedly stated that they’ve been approving 200 trucks a day — it’s the international folks who aren’t getting them driven across the border.
White House National Security Council spokesperson John Kirby told news hounds Thursday that Gazooks are facing starvation and more humanitarian aid must get in.

"We recognize that there are real food security issues in Gaza," he said. "We understand there’s a lot of hunger and starvation in Gaza."

Kirby said not enough aid trucks were getting into Gaza.

Missile strike hits an American military base in Syria
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] A US military base in the Syrian province of Deir ez-Zor was hit by missiles, Mehr News Agency reported on January 12.

As the agency reported, a base located near the Koniko gas field was shelled.

According to journalists, the attack was carried out by Iraqi resistance groups in response to Washington's support for Israel's actions in the Gaza Strip.

As Regnum reported, on January 8, three dozen missiles were fired at the American military base in Deir ez-Zor. On the same day, in the Hasakah province in northeastern Syria, the Rumeilan military base was attacked using drones.

The Israeli military launched an operation against Hamas in Gaza on October 7 after Palestinian militants launched a massive rocket attack on Israel.

The so-called resistance forces in Iraq, Lebanon, and Iran have announced that they will oppose Israeli policies towards the Palestinians and the American presence in Syria. Since then, American military bases have been shelled many times.

Yemen's Houthis have also said they will oppose Israeli action against the Palestinians. On January 10, the Ansar Allah movement attacked an American ship in the Red Sea. The Houthis said he supported the Israelis.

On the night of January 12, the US and British air forces launched strikes on Yemeni cities, including the capital Sanaa, explaining that they were attacking exclusively Houthi positions.

Russia condemned this massive strike. Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that Washington and London have created a security threat for the entire world.
