Death Toll In Terrorist Attacks On Plateau State Days To Christmas Eve Rises To 76
[SAHARAREPORTERS] Death toll from assailants’ attacks on some communities in Bokkos and Barkin-Ladi Local Government Areas of Plateau State during the weekend has risen to 76.

It was earlier reported on Sunday that no fewer than 16 persons were killed in Mushu village in Bokkos LGA.

According to Daily Trust, the spokesperson for Operation Safe Haven, Captain Oya James, confirmed the incident, saying the attack took place on Saturday night while residents of the community were asleep.

"Following the attack, security personnel were deployed to prevent any breakdown of law and order in the area. There was uprising after the incident but the situation has been brought under control," James had said.

Meanwhile,
...back at the shootout, Butch shot Black Bart's gun out of his hand......
it was gathered on Monday that the corpse count had risen to 76.

The Transition Implementation Committee Chairman of Bokkos LGA,

Monday Kasa, confirmed this to Channels TV, noting that the attacks on the two LGAs occurred on Saturday and lasted into Sunday.

Kasa said the casualty figure was increasing and that corpses were still being recovered by security agents, vigilantes and hunters combing the forest for missing persons. The council boss noted that several houses were burnt by the assailants, who also went away with farm produce belonging to the residents.

The Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang condemned the attack, describing the attack as barbaric, brutal and uncalled for.

A statement by his Director of Press and Public Affairs, Gyang Bere, said the governor directed security agencies to promptly apprehend the perpetrators responsible for the heinous act and ensure they face the full wrath of the law.

Bare said the governor expressed deep concern over the incident, urging communities to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to security forces for immediate action.

The statement added, "On the importance of collective collaboration among rural communities, the governor assured that proactive measures would be taken by the government to curb the ongoing attacks on innocent citizens.

He sympathised with affected families and urged them to find solace in God as the government diligently works to end the prolonged violence."

The Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, had on Sunday asked Nigerians to unite against common enemies and support the military.

Houthis have trained 20,000 fighters to participate in the war in the Gaza Strip
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] About 20 thousand Houthis have been prepared to participate in the conflict and be sent to the Gaza Strip, the Yemeni government news agency Saba reported.
But how are they to get there? Between Israel and Egypt Gaza is entirely surrounded.
The fighters were trained by the Ansar Allah (Houthis) movement that rules northern Yemen. At the end of the military course, a militia parade was organized for the first graduates in the Hajjah province in northwestern Yemen. At the event, 20 thousand reservists chanted slogans in support of the oppressed Palestinian people.
Remember the fate of those who joined in the first three wars against Israel — in 1948, 1967, and 1973...
The agency noted that the graduates expressed their readiness to participate in hostilities along with the Yemeni armed forces against Israel and the American coalition.

As Regnum reported , Palestinian Ambassador to Vienna Salah Abdel Shafi did not rule out expanding the conflict in the Middle East. According to him, there is a very tense situation between Israel and Hezbollah on the border with Lebanon; the escalation has not yet gone beyond the limits, but there are no guarantees for this.

Shipping traffic in the Red Sea has been almost suspended due to attacks by Yemen's Houthis on ships heading towards Israel. The conflict could fuel a fire in the region. If the situation in the Gaza Strip does not improve in the near future, then escalation cannot be ruled out, the ambassador added.

The representative of the Houthi movement, member of the Politburo of Ansar Allah, Khuzam al-Assad , said that a general mobilization was announced in the north of Yemen to send fighters to the Gaza Strip. The recruits will become a force that is called upon to “support the people in the Gaza Strip who have been subjected to genocide by Israel with the support of the United States.” He noted that this army is ready to take part in the conflict in the Gaza Strip if “there are conditions and opportunities for this.”

Houthis said the US accidentally fired on a ship coming from Russia.
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] An American ship opened fire in the Red Sea, trying to shoot down a reconnaissance aircraft of the Ansar Allah (Houthis) group ruling in northern Yemen. This was stated by Houthi spokesman Mohammed Abdel Salam.

The Houthis said the US accidentally fired on a ship coming from Russia.
He clarified that the ship opened fire from several guns, one of the missiles exploded next to a ship flying the Gabonese flag, which was sailing from a Russian port.

“While an unmanned reconnaissance aircraft belonging to the Yemeni navy was conducting reconnaissance over the Red Sea, a US warship […] opened fire from several guns, demonstrating a state of confusion and anxiety,” a representative of the movement wrote on the Telegram channel.

The Houthi spokesman pointed out that the threat to international maritime traffic arises as a result of the militarization of the Red Sea by the United States and its partners.

As Regnum reported , on December 23, in the Red Sea, the Houthis carried out a drone attack on two oil tankers sailing under the flags of Norway and India. According to the US Navy Central Command, the US military received information about attacks on tankers in the southern part of the sea in the evening.

The two vessels in question are BLAAMANEN, a Norwegian-flagged chemical and oil tanker, and SAIBABA, a Gabon-owned Indian-flagged crude oil tanker.

UKMTO in the Bab al-Mandeb Strait of the Red Sea recorded drone activity on December 3, followed by a suspected explosion. It was noted that the drones appeared from Yemen.

In early December, the Houthis attacked the American warship USS Carney with missiles and drones in the Red Sea. According to UK-based maritime security company Ambrey, the cargo ship was damaged in a drone strike off the northern Yemeni port of Hodeidah.

Pro-Palestinian protesters chant 'Christmas is canceled'
[NYPOST] Hundreds of pro-Paleostinian protesters converged on Midtown Monday, lugging a blood-red mock Nativity scene and chanting "Christmas is canceled here."

"Long live the intifada," the crowd of about 500 demonstrators yelled, using the Arabic word for "rebellion" or "uprising," as they mobbed the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree where revelers were enjoying the holiday.

"While Ur Shopping Bombs are Dropping," read one of the signs carried by the protesters.

"No Joy In Genocide," said another, written atop the faux Nativity scene, which was splattered in what appeared to be fake blood and which several of the demonstrators carried on their shoulders.

A few scuffles broke out in the crowd after nightfall, including outside St. Patrick’s Cathedral, which sent cops running through the mob.

Arrests were later reported near Grand Central Station and Union Square, as protesters and police clashed.

The protest was just the latest anti-Israel march to take place in the Big Apple in the wake of Hamas

...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. Strip.

It followed a pro-Paleostinian car caravan that disrupted Christmas carolers at Washington Square Park Sunday night, blaring music to douse the holiday spirit in the neighborhood.

The Christmas Day demonstration targeting the Manhattan area popular with holiday revelers and tourists prompted cops to go on alert outside the News Corp headquarters on Sixth Avenue.

Courtesy of Skidmark, the Daily Mail weighs in:
NYC moves to 'level three' police mobilization as pro-Palestine supporters chanting 'Long live the intifada' and 'Christmas is canceled' storm Manhattan while mob surrounds Pentagon and NSA chiefs' homes amid nation-wide anti-Israel protests

The protests appear to have been organized by The People's Forum, which shared at around 11am on Christmas morning that it was celebrating a 'morning wake-up in Lloyd Austin's neighborhood.'
The event poster, with a long list of the usual suspects announcing themselves as joining in the fun, can be seen among the usual Daily Mail photos.
The People's Forum has been behind a number of protests in America since the Israel-Hamas conflict broke out, frequently calling to 'shut it down for Palestine' by disrupting public events.

Last month, it was revealed that the group is being financed by a Connecticut tech investor and his wife, who have reportedly funneled at least $20 million into the group's activities.
That’d be Neville Roy Singham, the Sri Lankan-American entrepreneur who sold his IT consulting firm, Thoughtworks, for $785 million in 2017. He’s been a Maoist Black Nationalist from childhood— which is some trick considering he is half Asian and half white. His wife is Jodie Evans, co-founder of left-wing “anti-war” group Code Pink.
After its Christmas Day protests, the organization announced it is staging another round of demonstrations on New Years Eve.

The People's Forum, linked to an international Chinese Communist Party propaganda network funded by wealthy American businessman Neville Roy Singham, a self-identified socialist reported to be living in Shanghai, is, as of late, helping to lead Hamas-sympathetic protests across the United States in favor of a Middle East ceasefire. That same nonprofit group raked in a staggering $4.4 million in 2022, up from just $486,900 in 2021, a roughly 803% increase year-over-year, according to the People's Forum's newly filed tax forms obtained by the Washington Examiner.

'Shut it Down for Palestine' protests outside homes of Defense Sec Lloyd Austin, National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan
[THEPOSTMILLENNIAL] The Answer Coalition posted video of Shut it Down for Palestine agitators staging a demonstration outside of Biden's Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin's home and that of National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan on Christmas morning.

They blocked the road in front of Austin's home and blasted their demands on megaphones and loudspeakers.

They said that "protesters rally on Christmas morning outside the home of 'Defense' Secretary Lloyd Austin, a key participant in the genocide in Gaza. No Xmas during genocide! End all U.S. aid to Israel! Ceasefire now!"

"Austin we are at your gate!" They chanted through megaphones. "Justice is our only fate!" The protesters had podiums covered with blood emblazoned with the logo of defense contractor Lockheed Martin. They waved Palestinian flags and carries signs saying "Palestine will be free."

Another video they posted was captioned "Austin is threatening war against Yemen and arming the Israeli war machine to the teeth. But the people stand with Palestine! No Christmas as usual in a genocide!"

The group went from Austin's home to that of Sullivan, calling him a "war criminal."

"No Xmas as usual for war criminals," they declared.

The group demands an end to US aid for Israel and to "stop the genocide." The US gives a great deal of funds to Hamas-ruled Gaza, as well. President Joe Biden recently promised more aid if Hamas didn't steal the aid that was currently heading their way.

The next "day of action" for the Shut it Down for Palestine group is slated for December 31. The group has staged protests in cities across the US.

Iraq
In northern Iraq, a drone attacked a US base at the airport, several people were injured
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] Several people were injured in a drone attack on a US military base in northern Iraq, the INA news agency reported , citing information from Iraqi Armed Forces spokesman Yahya Rasul.

The facility is located on the territory of the international airport of Erbil (the administrative center of Iraqi Kurdistan). Rasul called the drone strike an act of terrorism.

The operation of the airport was also disrupted during the attack, which affected the schedule of civil flights. The news portal Shafaq News clarified that a military base in Erbil was attacked by a kamikaze drone loaded with explosives.

The Shiite movement, the Islamic Resistance of Iraq, claimed responsibility for the attack. The organization also announced an attack on a US base near the Al-Omar oil field in the Syrian province of Deir ez-Zor.

In addition, the movement warned of plans to increase the number of military operations in Syria and Iraq against the United States due to Washington's military assistance to Israel.

As Regnum reported, on December 8, the US Embassy in Baghdad came under fire from a multiple launch rocket system (MLRS). Three missiles fired in the direction of the object fell on the territory of the complex of administrative buildings where the American diplomatic mission is located.

Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed al-Sudani condemned the attack and considered it an act of terrorism . US authorities called on the Iraqi side to find and punish all those responsible for the rocket attack , as well as for attacks on other targets with American citizens.

Battle to control Khan Younis could take 'months'
[GEO.TV] The Israeli military estimates that seizing Khan Younis, a city in southern Gaza, may take many months.

In a report published on Sunday, the Wall Street Journal cited a senior Israeli military officer as saying it could take months to assert control in the same way that Israeli forces have done in northern Gaza as Hamas is using guerrilla tactics to inflict mounting Israeli casualties.

At least 16 Israeli soldiers have been killed in the enclave over the weekend, according to the report, which coincides with an increase in Israeli military losses in Gaza.

#3  I would say point three is best. Thirty years ago, when Gaza was under Israeli control, the road from Sinai through Gaza into Israel had to pass through Khan Younis. Even then travelers were warned 'don't stop'. Khan Younis was a nasty place then; I can imagine what it is now.

Hamas rejects two-state solution
[GEO.TV] A Hamas spokesperson said Monday that the Palestinian group rejects a two-state solution to end the war with Israel.

Talking on Geo News’ programme “Capital Talk”, Hamas spokesperson Khaled Qaddoumi said if the group accepts the two-state solution, it would mean acknowledging Israel’s existence.

“If a thief comes into our house, should we give it space in it? Who is Britain to decide Palestine’s fate?” he wondered, stressing that even Pakistan’s founder Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah was also against the two-state solution.

Deadly strike on Gaza camp condemned by WHO

...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with an iron fist by Hamas with about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
hospital receiving casualties from attacks on a refugee camp

"WHO's team heard harrowing accounts shared by health workers and victims of the suffering caused by the earth-shattering kabooms," the UN health agency chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said on X, formerly Twitter.

"One child had lost their whole family in the strike on the camp. A nurse at the hospital suffered the same loss," he said.

The ground at al-Aqsa Hospital in Deir al-Balah, central Gaza, was covered in rows of white bags containing the bodies of the victims.

The al-Aqsa hospital staff had reported receiving around 100 casualties from the blasts, Tedros said.

"The hospital is taking in far more patients than its bed capacity and staff can handle," he said.

"Many will not survive the wait," he warned, insisting "This latest strike on a Gazook community shows just why we need a #CeasefireNOW".

There are only nine of Gaza's original 36 hospitals that are even partially functional, according to the World Health Organization.

"We as an international community should not accept that thousands upon thousands of people, children are being blown up, being killed while they´re crossing the street, while they´re sleeping in their beds," Casey said.

"This is an unacceptable situation," he said, demanding a ceasefire. "This has to stop."

Hamas rejects Egyptian proposal to end war with Israel, refuses free elections in Gaza
[NYPOST] Hamas and Islamic Jihad terror groups operating in Gaza have rejected an Egyptian-led truce proposal with Israel that would see the militants relinquish power in return for an end to the war, sources say.

The terrorists, who conducted the Oct. 7 massacre in Israel, have refused to take part in one of the biggest conditions laid out by negotiators in Cairo on Sunday: an end to Hamas’ reign in Gaza by forming a Palestinian parliament and holding free elections, according to two Egyptian security sources.

The terrorist organizations instead reiterated that the only thing they’re ready to discuss is a prisoner swap that would see more than 100 Israeli hostages released in exchange for hundreds of Palestinian prisoners being held in Israel’s jails.

But a Hamas official who was in Cairo during the negotiations added that even a prisoner swap would only take place once Israel has withdrawn from war-torn Gaza.

“Hamas seeks to end the Israeli aggression against our people, the massacres and genocide, and we discussed with our Egyptian brothers the ways to do that,” the official told Reuters.

“We also said that the aid for our people must keep going and must increase, and it must reach all the population in the north and the south,” the Hamas official added. “After the aggression is stopped and the aid increased, we are ready to discuss prisoner swaps.”

While the peace talks have been previously discussed exchanging one hostage for every three Palestinian women and minors freed, leaders for Islamic Jihad are now demanding a different approach.

The terror group has claimed that the only fair exchange would be all the hostages for all the prisoners, according to the Egyptian sources.

There were about 5,250 Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails before the war, but that number has nearly doubled after thousands more were arrested in conflicts along the West Bank since Oct. 7, according to the Palestinian Prisoners Association.

There are believed to be more than 100 Israeli hostages still in captivity in Gaza.

But while both sides are reportedly miles apart from a truce, Izzat al-Risheq, a member of Hamas’s political bureau, has come out to insist that the peace talks are not off the table, claiming that the Gazan groups have not rejected the Egyptian plan.

“The leadership of the movement seeks with all force to stop the aggression and massacres against our people completely and not temporarily,” he told Al Aljazeera. “Our people want to stop the aggression and do not wait for temporary truces and a partial truce for a short period, after which the aggression and terrorism will continue.”

The Egyptian plan focuses on three phases, the first of which involves a two-week truce agreement that would see 40 hostages freed in exchange for 120 prisoners.

The second phase involves the establishment of a new government in Gaza, with the final step calling for permanent peace and the freedom of all hostages.

Despite the apparent hesitation from the terror groups to accept the proposal, Israel also appears ready to reject it, with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reiterating that the war will only end when the terror group is destroyed.

“Anyone who talks about stopping — no. We’re not stopping,” Netanyahu said during a visit to northern Gaza on Monday. “This is going to go until the end. Until we finish them. No less than that.”

Iran warns Israel ‘will pay the price' after Tehran claims IDF airstrike killed top Revolutionary Guard commander
[NYP] An Israeli airstrike in Syria took out a top Iranian commander Monday, prompting Iran to ominously warn Israel that it will "pay the price," according to Tehran’s state media.

Seyed Razi Mousavi, an adviser in Iran’s Revolutionary Guards who helped coordinate Tehran’s ties with Syria, was killed by an Israeli missile in Sayyida Zeinab, a Damascus suburb not far from a Shiite shrine, IRNA, Iranian state media said.

Iran vowed to retaliate.

"This act is a sign of the Zionist regime’s frustration and weakness in the region for which it will certainly pay the price," Iranian leader Ebrahim Raisi said, according to a Reuters translation.

Tehran described Mousavi as one of the most experienced Iranian officials in Syria.

Video circulated social media purportedly showing the airstrike.

State media also described Mousavi as an ally of Qassem Soleimani, the deceased head of the IRGC’s infamous Quds Force.

UN suspends USD aid to Syrian refugees in Lebanon after uproar
[An Nahar] The U.N. on Saturday announced the suspension of a decision to disburse U.S. dollar cash assistance to Syrian refugees in Lebanon, after the move created an uproar in the country.

“As a result of meetings held yesterday with the Caretaker Prime Minister, H.E. Najib Mikati, and Caretaker Minister of Social Affairs, H.E. Hector Hajjar, and based on their requests, a decision has been made to temporarily pause the use of dual currency for next month's disbursement of cash assistance to refugees, while discussions continue on appropriate modalities,” a U.N. statement said.

“The United Nations reiterates its commitment to humanitarian principles in supporting the Government to assist the most vulnerable people across Lebanon. All programmatic decisions are taken with full transparency and commitment to our mandate including decisions on assistance modalities which are based on solid, objective evidence and thorough research,” the statement said.

“We continue to stand with the people and Government of Lebanon during these difficult times and foster a collaborative environment to reach those most in need, including refugees,” the statement added.

Some Lebanese officials, observers and citizens have argued that granting U.S. dollar assistance to Syrian refugees would encourage them to stay in Lebanon.

Lebanese authorities have recently started cracking down on Syrian refugees against the backdrop of a worsening economic crisis and political stalemate, an escalation that has caused a panic among Syrians in the country.

Government officials have given varying estimates of the number of Syrians in the country, ranging from 1.5 million to more than 2 million. Lebanon is believed to have a population of around 5 million to 5.5 million citizens, but no census has been held for nearly a century.

Since Lebanon’s economic meltdown began in 2019, officials have increasingly called for a mass return of Syrians, saying they are a burden on the country’s scarce resources and that much of Syria is now safe. The rhetoric has grown increasingly heated; a federation of trade unions recently declared a “National Campaign to Liberate Lebanon from the Syrian Demographic Occupation.”

In recent interviews with local media, Minister Hajjar claimed that refugees make up 40% of Lebanon’s population, which “no country in the world would accept.”

The United States, one of the Lebanese Army's largest donors, has expressed concerns about refugee deportations to Lebanese officials. Refugee returns should be “voluntary, safe, and dignified,” a U.S. Embassy spokesperson said.

Saturday’s U.N. statement was issued by U.N. Resident Coordinator and Humanitarian Coordinator for Lebanon Imran Riza, the U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees Representative in Lebanon Ivo Freijsen, and the World Food Program Country Director and Representative in Lebanon Abdallah Alwardat.
