Government Corruption
This is Deadly Serious - Whistleblowers: FBI officials singled out agents who were former military for anti-Trump retaliation
[WashingtonTimes] More whistleblowers have stepped forward to tell Congress that high-ranking FBI officials are targeting agents for their political beliefs and trying to force them out of the bureau, specifically going after former military members.

The Marine Corps and other military veterans at the FBI are being accused of being disloyal to the U.S. because they fit the profile of a supporter of former President Donald Trump, according to two new disclosures sent to lawmakers on the House Judiciary Committee.

The Washington Times obtained copies of the disclosures.

The whistleblowers said FBI Security Division Deputy Assistant Director Jeffrey Veltri and Assistant Section Chief Dena Perkins specifically went after bureau employees who served as Marines or in other military branches

They retaliated against the agents by stripping them of security clearance, which sidelines them on the job and pushes them toward the exit, according to the disclosures.

The whistleblower disclosures charge that Mr. Veltri and Ms. Perkins either declared or attempted to declare the Marine and other veterans as “disloyal to the United States of America.”

“In these cases there was no indication that any of the individuals had any affiliation to a foreign power or held any belief against the United States,” it said.

Ms. Perkins and Mr. Veltri also considered not wearing masks, refusing to take the COVID-19 vaccination, and participating in religious activities showed that an employee was a “right-wing radical and disloyal to the United States.”

In another instance, Ms. Perkins attempted to revoke a security clearance of a bureau employee she knew was a Marine veteran, but information showed that the initial allegations against the employee were unfounded, the disclosure says.

This did not stop Ms. Perkins from ordering her investigators to canvass at least 10 police departments where the employee lived to find out if the FBI employee had any allegations lodged against him.

“During the process, Perkins was attempting to provide evidence so she could terminate this employee because he was ‘Disloyal to the United States,’” the disclosure states.

“An employee advised that at least two of the publicly known FBI whistleblowers were former members of the military, specifically … Kyle Seraphin and Garret O’Boyle,” according to one of the disclosures.

Another FBI whistleblower disclosure sent to the Judiciary Committee included an accusation from a Security Division employee who said the security clearance investigation of Mr. Seraphin did not follow the policy guidelines of the Office of the Director of National Intelligence.

The FBI said the whistleblowers’ accounts were not true and rebuked The Times for reporting on the disclosures to Congress.

“It is wholly irresponsible of The Washington Times, and this reporter, to include outrageous and demonstrably false allegations that the FBI singled out former military employees. It is offensive that The Washington Times chose to publish, on Veteran’s Day, such baseless, unsubstantiated claims and include the names of FBI employees, one of which is a veteran. The FBI has not and will not retaliate against individuals who make protected whistleblower disclosures. We do not target or take adverse action against employees for exercising their First Amendment rights or for their political views. The FBI is proud to have many veterans in our workforce and we thank all veterans for their service,” the FBI said.

Mr. Seraphin was subjected to a security clearance investigation, according to the disclosure, after his field office notified Ms. Perkins that a police officer who was out of his jurisdiction confronted him about practicing with his gun at a shooting range.

Mr. O’Boyle lost his security clearance after he testified before the House Judiciary Committee’s panel that is investigating the weaponization of the federal government. His security clearance was suspended in September 2022 over allegations he had leaked information about a criminal investigation to Project Veritas that FBI officials said “compromised the case.”

#4  Director Hoover was incensed that his highly trained agents were being drafted during WWII. He created the term "Special Agent" and successfully maneuvered to have them exempted from the draft.

While an unwritten prohibition, discouraging Special Agents from military reserve membership was, and remains common.

New wine, old wine skins sort of thing.

Ron DeSantis Didn't Back Down and the RNC Caved
[HotAir] Ron DeSantis keeps showing why he wins. The successful Florida governor did it again on Saturday in Iowa. This time he took on the RNC and won.

Bob Vander Plaats, President and CEO of Iowa’s Family Leader, held a Republican presidential candidate forum in the leadup to the 2012 and 2016 Republican caucuses. The event is meant to showcase the candidates as they sit around a table and have a conversation with Vander Plaats. It’s a more up close and personal look at the candidates than, say, a formal debate.

This year, Vander Plaats said that the event will go on later this month with this cycle’s primary candidates. The Republican National Committee (RNC), however, threatened to sanction the candidates who attended. Vander Plaats said that the event is a forum, not a debate.

...The RNC Counsel’s Office disagreed and sent a letter to the presidential campaigns at the end of October. The letter stated that an appearance at the Family Leader event would be a violation of the pledge they made to not participate in any non-sanctioned debate by the RNC.
"The behavior of any bureaucratic organization can best be understood by assuming that it is controlled by a secret cabal of its enemies."
― Robert Conquest

...Nonetheless, one Republican candidate said he would attend the event, sanction or no sanction. Not all Republican candidates were issued an invitation. Three made the cut. It is the last major event scheduled before the Iowa caucuses.

...The three who were invited to participate are Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, Sen. Tim Scott, and Vivek Ramaswamy. It’s not a time for stump speeches. It’s just dinner and conversations with the candidates. The only candidate speaking up and declaring he would be in attendance was Ron DeSantis.

...Lo and behold, an agreement has been made.

...Classic DeSantis. He took a stand and let it be known he was not backing down. He goes by common sense and doing the right thing. It’s a winning way to govern and, in this case, campaign.

Virginia Attorney General Miyares maps national plan to replace Soros prosecutors
Never give up. Never surrender.
[WashingtonExaminer] Bolstered by big election night wins, Virginia Attorney General Jason Miyares is already mapping a national 2024 battle plan to knock out liberal prosecutors funded by billionaire liberal George Soros
...either Ernst Stavro Blofeld or Auric Goldfinger come true...
and replace them with law-and-order candidates.

Savoring victories in Virginia and Pennsylvania that came on the heels of even more successes in the 2022 elections, Miyares said he’s ready to oversee a national effort to push out liberal prosecutors ignoring the wave of violent mostly peaceful crime sweeping America.

"We had some good results," Miyares told Secrets, pointing to victories in Virginia’s Loudoun and Smythe counties and Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.

"What we do is we're very targeted," he said of his efforts and that of the group Protecting Americans Project Action Fund that he heads.

"We have a big board. We try to really see who are the incumbent left-wing prosecutors that are in a position that we could take out, where are the open seats that we think they're going to target, and who are people also that need help that we can come alongside and assist them. So, 2024 is going to be a big year," Miyares said.

In the interview, Miyares challenged Soros to debate prosecutorial policies and their dueling agendas. "I would love to debate [Soros] in an urban setting or in an environment that's been particularly hit hard by the prosecutors, and let's debate. Let's have this discussion. Let's talk about whose policies are absolutely hurting communities," Miyares said.

He and his group played a big part in the surprise defeat of liberal Loudoun Commonwealth’s Attorney Buta Biberaj by former Loudoun prosecutor Bob Anderson. Biberaj hasn’t conceded, but Anderson said there is no path to her winning. She trails Anderson by over 1,000 votes with all districts counted.

Miyares said his group targeted about 75,000 voters concerned about crime in Loudoun and highlighted cases that Biberaj had bungled, crimes she wouldn’t prosecute, and defendants released.

"So many people, from a quality of life standpoint, were tired of the negative headlines. They were tired of hearing stories from the victims on the nightly news feeling like their local prosecutor had failed them. And so we're thrilled to be involved in it," he said.
