Taliban’s Stranglehold: Barbers Detained for Trimming in Baghlan Province
[8am] Residents of Baghlan province have reported that the Taliban
...mindless ferocity in a turban...
have imposed strict restrictions on them since yesterday and stationed a number of their fighters near each barbershop, prohibiting the barbers from trimming hair and beards.

According to the residents who spoke to Hasht-e Subh on Tuesday, June 27, at least three barbers in Shahr-e Kohna Baghlan have been detained by the Taliban for trimming their customers’ hair and beards. These barbers have been handed over to the security command of the group.

"With Eid approaching, it is essential for us to groom ourselves, but the Taliban deprive us of this opportunity," added the residents.

The Taliban have not provided any comments on this matter.

This incident follows previous reports from residents of the Begram district in Parwan province, where the Taliban publicly flogged several young men for trimming and shortening their beards.

Barbers in different provinces across the country have previously faced humiliation by the Taliban for trimming or shaving their customers’ beards and hair.

Sudan: UN warns on possible ethnic conflict amid war
[AFRICANEWS] The conflict in Sudan is taking an ethnic turn in Darfur, the UN said on Tuesday, at a time when the number of people who have fled the fighting abroad exceeds 560,000 and the number of displaced persons in the country is close to two million.

"560,000 people in just over two months is a huge number," Raouf Mazou, UNHCR Assistant High Commissioner for Operations, told news hounds in Geneva.

The war that broke out on April 15th between the Sudanese Armed Forces led by General Abdel Fattah Abdelrahman al-Burhane and the Rapid Support Forces of General Mohammed Hamdan Daglo, aka "Hemetti," soon spilled over into Darfur, where the latter comes from.

The fighting quickly turned into a conflict between the Janjaweed Arab militias massively supported by the RSF and the so-called "African," i.e., non-Arab communities such as the Masalit who have formed self-defence groups. The latter makeup most victims of the violence.

"The situation in Darfur is probably the one that concerns us most", said Mr Mazou, explaining that a growing number of refugees fleeing to Chad "arrive with injuries".

The roots of the conflict in Darfur have both regional and local dimensions. The region borders Libya and Chad to the west, which has had a destabilising effect on it.

"The weight of refugees arriving in countries can, in some cases, frighten governments. So we must always remind and ask countries of asylum to continue to keep their borders open, but we must also ensure that they have the means to provide humanitarian assistance and sometimes also development needs", he added.

#1  For more than thirty years the media have for the most part refused to report on an attempted genocide of African Muslim societies in Darfur, both North and South. The genesis began with the desertification of North Darfur forcing the Arab camel nomads south into lands occupied and worked by Africans, generally called the Messalit, but inluding the major Zaghawa and Fur peoples. Next, the overgrazing of Arab cattle nomads created problems with both the Dinka Africans of the Bahr al Ghazal (now of South Sudan) and the Fur. It had to come to this, but it appears the present combat may finally decide who will dominate in Darfur, the Arabs or the Africans.

Kenyan trader behind weapons seized in Mogadishu in May
[GOOBJOOG] Police in Kenya are investigating a trader who is thought to have imported the assortment of weapons confiscated at Aden Adde Airport in Mogadishu on May 19.

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has said it is on course to charge Zakariya Kamal Sufi Abashiek with belonging to a terrorist organization and providing property for the commission of terrorist acts.

The DCI which had sought ten more days to detain Kamal said it had received intelligence in mid-April that the accused was providing logistical support to al-Shabaab
...... the Islamic version of the old Somali warlord...
and was in the process of transporting a suspicious container from China to Somalia.

It was later established that the same container marked MSMU826114145G1 shipped to Somalia from China was the same one flagged by security agencies in Mogadishu. Somalia’s state minister for Security Mohammed Haga announced on May 9 that authorities had seized a cache of weapons at Aden Adde Airport leading to the arrest of 10 suspects.

The weapons included five high-specification JS crop drones with the capacity to carry 10 litres of liquid 500 metres above sea level and cover 10 hectares, rifle scopes, rolls of material for making military uniforms, and 3,000 metres of canvas packed in 30-metre rolls for making tents.

Other items were 18-night vision goggles and swimming goggles, 18 voice recording pens, 18 spy goggles and watches, military-grade two-way radios and helmets, ghillie suits (camouflage), portable solar panels and 20 torches and batteries.

Kamal was arrested on April 28 in Mombasa and adduced in court on May 2 before he was detained for ten days. The Anti-Terrorsim Police Unit (ATPU) also requested 16 more days to investigate Kamal but the extension has since ended and Kamal is out on a $10,000 cash bail.

The ATPU told the court that Kamal had received death threats from Somalia. According to Kenyan media reports, the DCI intends to visit Somalia and China to widen their investigations before charging Kamal.

RSF announces two-day ceasefire in Sudan during Eid al-Adha
[GOOBJOOG] Sudan’s Rapid Support Forces (RSF) commander Mohammed Hamadan "Hemedti" Dagalo has announced a two-day ceasefire as muslims mark Eid al-Adha
...a major Moslem holiday, marked by animal sacrifice and ritual rioting...
“We are declaring a unilateral ceasefire, except for self-defence situations, on the eve of Eid and on the day of Eid al-Adha," Mohammed Hamdan "Hemedti" Dagalo announced on Monday in a statement posted on Facebook.

He said that he hoped the Eid holiday will provide an opportunity for the Sudanese people to seek reconciliation saying the worsening humanitarian condition in the country caused by war is devastating to the civilian population.

The Sudanese army has yet to comment on a potential ceasefire.

Eid al-Adha, or the Festival of Sacrifice, is one of the most important Moslem holidays, marking the culmination of the annual Hajj (pilgrimage) in Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
.

Sudan has been ravaged by fighting between the army and the RSF since mid-April in a conflict that has killed at least 2,000 civilians and injured thousands more.

Khartoum and el-Geneina have been the worst affected by the war that broke out on April 15, though tensions and festivities escalated last week in other parts of Darfur and in Kordofan in the south.

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) estimates the conflict has displaced almost two million people internally, and more than 600,000 have fled to neighbouring countries.

Al-Qaeda forces launch attacks against UAE-backed forces in Abyan
[HODHODYEMENNEWS.NET] al-Qaeda elements have on Sunday night launched a large-scale military attack against the positions of the armed factions loyal to the UAE in Abyan
...a governorate of Yemen. The region was a base to the Aden-Abyan Islamic Army terrorist group until it dropped the name and joined al-Qaeda. Its capital is Zinjibar. In March 2011, al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula declared the governate an Islamic Emirate after seizing control of the region. The New York Times fastidiously reported that those in control, while Islamic hard boyz, are not in fact al-Qaeda, but something else that looks, tastes, smells, and acts the same. Yemeni government forces launched an effort to re-establish control of the region when President-for-Life Saleh was tossed and the carnage continues...
province, southern Yemen
...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of...
This is the third attack carried out by al-Qaeda in Abyan province in less than a week.

According to local and international media, al-Qaeda snuffies took control of new sites in Omran Valley, east of Modiya district, after fierce battles between the two sides that lasted for hours.

Al-Qaeda used drones in the attack, and the pro-UAE recruits suffered heavy losses in lives and equipment, according to media reports.

Al-Qaeda continues its escalation against the armed elements of the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) in response to the Siham al-Sharq operation the latter launched against the terrorist organization in Abyan.

Honduras starts El Salvador-style crackdown on gangs after massacres
[THEGUARDIAN] Authorities in Honduras have launched an El Salvador-style crackdown and arrested a suspect in a pool hall shooting on Saturday that killed 11 people.

Police said they were investigating the possibility the pool hall shooting could be Dire Revenge for last week’s gang-related massacre of 46 female inmates, the worst atrocity at a women’s prison in recent memory.

The Honduran government has vowed to crack down on gang violence and put curfews in place.

On Monday, the military police — who have taken charge of the nation’s prisons — posted photos of male inmates forced to sit in rows, spread-legged and touching, during a raid to seize contraband in one prison.

Such tactics — with inmates clad only in shorts, their heads bowed on to the backs of the men in front of them — were made famous last year by the Salvadorian president, Nayib Bukele, during his crackdown on gangs. Bukele’s harsh tactics have succeeded in weakening organized crime, but at a high cost to human rights
...which are often intentionally defined so widely as to be meaningless...
The military police said they found ammunition, guns and grenades during the search of a men’s prison in Tamara, the same town where the women’s prison massacre occurred.

The massacre at the women’s prison in Tamara, north-east of Honduras’s capital, outraged the country and sparked the raids, curfews and crackdown.

In that massacre, female inmates belonging to the Barrio 18 street gang smuggled in guns, machetes and a flammable liquid. They subdued guards and burst into cellblocks housing members of a rival gang. They sprayed the victims with gunfire, hacked to death others and then locked their cells and set the victims on fire.

While Saturday’s killings at a pool hall and in the city of Choloma, in Cortés province, happened far to the north of Tamara, the two events could be related, according to the police.

The national police commissioner, Miguel Pérez Suazo, said authorities have detained one suspect in the pool hall killings and were looking for others.

"We do not rule out these crimes could be some sort of Dire Revenge for what happened in the women’s prison," Pérez Suazo said. Choloma is reputed to be the turf of the Barrio 18 gang, which would make it a logical place to target their members.

But he said "we also do no rule out that it could have been some type of Dire Revenge by criminals against civilians".

The Honduran president, Xiomara Castro, has put the military police in charge of the country’s poorly run prisons and given them a year to train new guards.

She also announced security measures including curfews in the Choloma area, as well as "raids, captures and checkpoints 24 hours a day". The curfew in Choloma will run from 9pm until 4am The curfew in the nearby city of San Pedro Sula will begin on 4 July.

Australian handed 8-year-sentence for fighting in Syria
[NPASYRIA] An Albanian-Australian citizen was sentenced to over eight years for fighting in Syria along krazed killer groups and inciting violence on the internet, ABC reports.

Agim Ajazi pleaded guilty to three charges in the Brisbane Supreme Court last year, including advocating terrorism and engaging in hostile activities in a foreign country.

The 34-year-old travelled to Syria through The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...just another cheapjack Moslem dictatorship, brought to you by the Moslem Brüderbund...
in 2013, where he fought against Syrian government forces with krazed killer groups like Jabhat al-Nusra
...formally Jabhat an-Nusrah li-Ahli al-Sham (Support Front for the People of the Levant), also known as al-Qaeda in the Levant. They aim to establish a pan-Arab caliphate. Not the same one as the Islamic State, though .. ...
(now HTS). From 2014, he regularly crossed the Ottoman Turkish-Syrian border to join battles raging in Syria.

During that time, Ajazi also made several social media posts, boasting of having cut off prisoners’ heads. The Australian court says there is no evidence the accused carried out any actual executions. Other posts incited violence against Russian civilians.

The Supreme Court ruling said Ajazi demonstrated a "reasonable level of remorse" and handed down a sentence of eight years and two months, of which more than three have already been served in pre-trial detention.

Europe
Paris erupts as police 'execution' of teenage driver sparks riots: Youths set cars alight and pelt officers with fireworks in night of anarchy after 'French-Algerian 17-year-old' was shot dead by cop who told him 'I'm going to lodge a bullet in your head'
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] Riots erupted on the streets of Gay Paree overnight after a police officer rubbed out a French-Algerian teenager during a traffic stop, after telling him: 'I'm going to lodge a bullet in your head.'
"Lodge a bullet in your head"? Who talks like that?
Nael M., a 17-year-old delivery driver, was gunned at the wheel of a Mercedes in the western suburb of Nanterre, sparking a night of anarchy in the French capital.

The killing, described by witnesses as 'an execution', was captured on video which quickly spread across social media, fuelling anger at the police after they initially tried to claim they opened fire after the driver rammed them with his car.

Youths poured onto the streets on Tuesday, setting fire to bins and hurling fireworks at police. As night fell, cars and buildings were torched and the violence spread to other suburbs across the city. The police officer who shot the boy was last night in jug, and Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin appealed for calm.

By Wednesday morning police had made 24 arrests. Meanwhile,
...back at the shootout, Butch shot Ike through the elbow. Take that, Ike! he yelled......
a picture of smiling Nael was released by his family, along with the words: 'The love of my life'.
Shades of Lil Trayvon
Darmanin told the National Assembly in Gay Paree that the images posted on social media were 'extremely shocking and worrying,' and urged people to 'respect the grief of the family and the presumption of innocence of the police'.

The shooting happened close to the Nanterre-Prefecture RER train station, near Nelson-Mandela Square, behind La Défense business district.

Verified video of the shooting shows an armed traffic officer pointing his service pistol into the yellow hired Mercedes AMG and saying: 'I'm going to lodge a bullet in your head'. There is then a bang and the car lurches forward, before Nael dies at the scene of the shooting, which happened at about 8.30am.

The victim was confirmed dead soon after 9am. There were two other unidentified people in the vehicle at the time.
I thought he was a Delivery Driver?
Prosecutors confirmed that the unnamed officer responsible for the shooting was being investigated for 'murder'.

Officers claimed the teenager had been driving the car erratically, but questions have been raised over the version of events presented by the officers involved.

'At first police said the teenager had tried to run them over, but they changed their tune when the video appeared,' said an investigating source.

As the violence intensified, police reported nine arrests in Nanterre by 10pm.

'There are mobs setting fire to cars and shooting firework rockets at officers,' said a Gay Paree police front man. 'Nine people are in jug, mainly for public order offences.'

Local residents held a protest outside the police headquarters. Some groups set alight barricades and rubbish bins, smashed up a bus stop and threw firecrackers toward police, who responded with tear gas and dispersion grenades, according to videos broadcast on local media.

The IGPN national police inspectorate has opened an investigation into possible intentional killing by a person holding a position of public authority.

A separate probe is being carried out by regional police into the driver's failure to halt and alleged attempt to kill a person holding a position of public authority.

Gay Paree police chief Laurent Nunez said the action of the officer 'raises questions', while claiming that the officer may have 'felt threatened.'

The family's lawyer Yassine Bouzrou told the same channel that while all parties needed to wait for the result of the investigation the images 'clearly showed a policeman killing a young man in cold blood.'

'This is a long way from any kind of legitimate defence' he said, adding the family had filed a complaint, accusing police of 'lying' by initially claiming the car had tried to run down the officers.

'It's so sad, he was so young,' said Samia Bough, 62, the teenager's former neighbour, who came to lay a bouquet of yellow roses at the scene.

In 2022, a record 13 deaths were recorded after refusals to stop for traffic controls. Five coppers have been charged in these cases.

Authorities and police unions blame the 2022 figures on more dangerous driving behaviour, but researchers also point to a 2017 law modifying the conditions of the use of their weapon by the police.

Two weeks ago, a 19-year-old was killed by a police officer he had injured in the legs with his car in the western town of Angouleme.

The left reacted with anger, saying police had no right to kill people simply because they refused to stop.

'Yes, a refusal to stop is against the law. But death is not one of the sanctions provided for by the penal code,' tweeted the coordinator of the hard left La Belle France Unbowed (LFI) party, Manuel Bompard. 'A refusal to stop does not provide a licence to kill,' said Socialist Party leader Olivier Faure.

CTD arrests nine militants of banned outfits
[Dawn] The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) of Punjab
1.) Little Orphan Annie's bodyguard
2.) A province of Pakistain ruled by one of the Sharif brothers
3.) A province of India. It is majority (60 percent) Sikh and Hindoo (37 percent), which means it has relatively few Moslem riots....

has reported the arrest of nine suspects associated with defunct organizations across various parts of the province.

According to a spokesperson for the CTD, the arrests were made as a result of intelligence-based operations (IBOs) conducted by different teams of the department. A total of 35 IBOs were carried out in different districts of Punjab, leading to the questioning of 36 suspects.

Of the interrogated people, nine suspects were arrested: Adnan Yousaf and Mohammad Luqman from the banned Tehrik-e-Taliban

Pakistain; Abdul Haleem and Salman Iftikhar from the banned Lashkar-e-Jhangvi
... a 'more violent' offshoot of Sipah-e-Sahaba Pakistain. They are currently a wholly-owned subsidiary of al-Qaeda ...
; and Sheraz Alam, Abdaho Shah, Bilqees Bibi (Shah’s wife), Shahid Ahmad, and Muhammad Umar bin Khalid from the banned ISIS.

The CTD registered five first information reports against these suspects in Multan

, Dera Ghazi Khan, and Bahawalpur. As part of the operations, the CTD also recovered four hand grenades, three prima cards, 42 bullets of a 30-bore pistol, a laptop, Afghani currency, and flags and stickers associated with the defunct organizations.
...which are clearly not in the least bit defunct — not even slightly moribund, in fact.
Additionally, in collaboration with the local police and other law enforcement agencies, the CTD conducted 124 combing operations. During these operations, 5,814 people were checked, resulting in the arrest of 11 suspects. Furthermore, 14 FIRs were registered, and additional recoveries were made.

They have fought four wars with India over it, the score currently 4-0 in New Delhi's favor. "Acting on a specific input regarding the presence of a terrorist in village Hawoora area of Kulgam, a joint cordon and search operation was launched by J&K Police, Army (1st RR) and CRPF (18 Bn) in the said area," said a police front man, in a statement.

The hiding terrorist was also given an opportunity to surrender, however he kept on firing on the joint forces. The fire was effectively retaliated, leading to an encounter."

In the ensuing encounter, a local terrorist linked with proscribed terrorist outfit al-Badr was killed and his body was retrieved from the site of encounter. He has been identified as Adil Majeed Lone son of Abdul Majeed Lone resident of Akbarabad Hawoora, Kulgam, said the front man.

"Incriminating materials, arms & ammunition including 01 Pistol with live ammunition and a Grenade were recovered from the site of encounter. All the recovered materials have been taken into case records for further investigation."

A case under relevant sections of law has been registered and further investigation is in progress. "People are requested to cooperate with Police till the area at encounter site is completely sanitized and cleared of all the kabooms, if any," added the front man.

Zionist soldier killed in Negev
Unfortunately, work accidents happen. And when the tools of the trade involved are deadly, sometimes the accidents are, too.
[HODHODYEMENNEWS.NET] The Israeli occupation army announced on Tuesday that one of its soldiers was killed last night inside a military base in the Negev, south of occupied Paleostine.

The occupation army claimed that the soldier was killed after being shot during training inside the military base.

According to a military front man for the occupation army, the training was stopped and an investigation was opened into the circumstances of the incident.

The occupation army’s announcement came after the storming of Nablus and the outbreak of violent mostly peaceful confrontations with Paleostinian youths and armed festivities with the resistance fighters who confronted the storming forces.

Militants kill border guard in southeast Iran clashes
[Rudaw] An Iranian border guard was killed early Tuesday during festivities with an gang in southeast Iran’s Sistan and Baluchestan province, semi-official media reported.

An attack by an gang "and their attempt to enter the country was met with resistance by the border guards of the 16th border checkpoint of the Saravan border regiment," Tasnim news agency said.

"In the festivities, a border guard was martyred."

A number of Balochi jihadist groups operate in southeast Iran, primarily the Jaish al-Adl (Justice Army) group. The bandidos Death Eaters have waged an insurgency against the Islamic republic and carried out attacks against its forces, especially the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).

In late May, at least five Iranian border guards were killed during festivities with an unnamed gang in the Sistan and Baluchestan province.

Two years ago, a Jaish al-Adl attack in Saravan killed at least five guards of the IRGC and three others were taken prisoner.

Baluchis are a mainly Sunni ethnic minority in Iran, living predominantly in the Baluchestan region near the border with Pakistain. The region was heavily targeted during the violent mostly peaceful crackdown by the IRGC on last September’s nationwide protests. Hundreds of Baluchis were killed by the IRGC during demonstrations in Zahedan and Khash.

Jaish al-Adl has carried out a number of suicide kabooms on Iranian security forces, killing dozens in the border areas. The group was added to the list of Foreign Terrorist Organizations in 2019 by the administration of former US president Donald Trump
...Perhaps no man has ever had as much fun being president of the US...
The designation was in response to a deadly attack by the group on the IRGC, which killed 27 guards near Sistan and Baluchestan’s historic provincial capital of Zahedan.
