KUDO's to Demario Davis.

Question in the video I see a heavy set black male pickup the knife and close it and place in his pocket looking like he was trying to be discreet about it? Was he the buddy of the cold cocked knife welding idiot, or a Store Loss Prevention member?

Either Way Remember.
Despite several mass shootings with serious woundings and plus murders at Wally-Worlds and Sam's. They prohibited Law-abiding citizens their right to carry self-defense measures in their stores.

While it is their stores and they can do so. Store Security itself needs a solution to combat such growing Thugist Situations quickly and effectively.

A simple to use and train on L.E.O. type Dart Shooting Taser pistol, used by store personnel, could be that simple answer.

Afghanistan
Daily Evacuation Brief January 13, 2023
[AfghanDigest] LAST 24 HOURS
  • THE UN SECURITY COUNCIL CALLS ON TALIBAN TO REVERSE GENDER POLICIES – The UNSC met on Friday and released a signed statement from several members that demanded the Taliban reverse their discriminatory practices. The tone of the statement was remarkably harsher than in previous statements about Afghanistan. Predictably, Russia and China refused to sign the statement.

  • THE MINISTRY OF THE INTERIOR SAYS DRUG TRAFFICKING REDUCED, NEIGHBORS DISAGREE – Hasibullah Ahmadi, head of the counter-narcotics department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that significant reductions had been made, but admitted that some Provinces continue to export opium. He claimed that nearly 4,500 people had been arrested for trafficking-related charges. Officials in Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and India claimed that 2022 saw a significant increase in drug trafficking from Afghanistan. Some of this marked increase is thought to have been caused by the exportation of excess supply after the Taliban had swept into power.

  • AUSTRALIA CRICKET FIRES BACK AT THE ACB OVER CANCELLED MATCHES – The CEO of Cricket Australia responded to the Afghanistan Cricket Board’s condemnation of the canceled event, where the ACB expressed frustration that politics had influenced Australia’s decision. Nick Hockley, CEO of Cricket Australia, said in a riposte that “Basic human rights is not politics.” Human rights advocates celebrated his response.

  • TALIBAN SAY THEY WELCOME THE OIC CRITICISMS, SAY THE GENDER BANS ON EDUCATION ARE ONLY TEMPORARY – Taliban spokesman, Zabihullah Mujahid, said on Thursday that the Taliban welcomed the remarks made by OIC members but warned against internal interference in Afghan affairs. He went on to say that the education bans were only a temporary measure and were prompted by a lack of capacity. However, statements made repeatedly by the Supreme Leader and others in the regime continue to espouse Deobandian principles and most observers see the excuses about capacity as merely an attempt to sidestep the problem. Ultimately, there are very few in the international community who trust the de facto regime.

At-risk Afghans residing in the area can expect additional scrutiny from security forces until after the elections. It is advisable to avoid polling locations and public transport on Sunday if at all possible.

  • SUICIDE BOMBER TARGETS MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS IN KABUL – A suicide bomb attack near the entrance to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs occurred at approximately 1600hrs local yesterday. Casualty figures are in dispute with news outlets reporting between 5-20 were killed in the blast. An additional 20-30 were thought to have been wounded. The timing of the blast occurred during the area’s busiest part of the day. It is believed the suicide bomber was attempting to enter the Ministry but detonated his device when he was interdicted by security personnel. ISIS-K claimed responsibility for the attack on the group’s Telegram channel (Amaq news agency). No further information was available.

  • ORGANIZATION OF ISLAMIC COOPERATION ISSUES COMMUNIQUE CRITICAL OF TALIBAN REGIME – At the conclusion of an extraordinary session in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, the OIC issued a statement condemning the Taliban’s stance on women’s education as well as the ban on women working on humanitarian aid projects. The committee called for a delegation of scholars to visit Afghanistan and engage with the Taliban at the ‘highest levels’. The statement signaled a veiled threat to the Taliban by reminding the regime the OIC expects its member states to abide by the OIC Charter. A report from any potential visiting investigative teams is expected at the next regular session. A source in the Ministry of the Interior claimed the OIC’s rebuke was expected but that the advisors who surround the Supreme Leader flew into a rage and referred to the OIC committee members as heretics. The source also said there were orders from Kandahar to try and suppress reports from the OIC meeting in the press.

  • HERAT POWER OUTAGES – The Afghan national power company reported that power had been cut off in Herat due to technical issues with the Turkmenistan transmission lines. An early report had suggested that a terrorist attack had targeted a portion of the line, but was dismissed as rumor later in the day. It is not clear when power will be restored.

  • STORMS CLOSE SEVERAL ROADS, SALANG PASS CLOSED TO ALL TRAFFIC – Heavy snow blanketed a large portion of the country and Salang Pass authorities closed the tunnel to all traffic yesterday. Local officials are pleading with citizens to avoid travel in the interim.

  • IN AN ABRUPT TURN, TALIBAN REVERSES DECREE TO CLOSE WOMEN-OWNED SHOPS IN BALKH & BAGHLAN PROVINCES – In a possible reaction to strong public outrage, the Taliban’s Vice and Virtue Ministry backed off of a plan to forcibly close women-owned businesses in Balkh and Baghlan Provinces. The spokesman for the Ministry said that the shops will be allowed to continue operating in their current locations but they would be forced to move to another location at some point in the future.

Puntland forces join offensive against Al-Shabaab in Mudug region
[ShabelleMedia] Reports from the ancient coastal city of Hobyo, central Somalia indicate that Puntland
...a region in northeastern Somalia, centered on Garowe in the Nugaal province. Its leaders declared the territory an autonomous state in 1998. Puntland and the equally autonomous Somaliland seem to have avoided the clan rivalries and warlordism that have typified the rest of Somalia, which puts both places high on the list for Islamic subversion...
regional forces joined military movements against al-Shabaab
...... al-Qaeda's tentacle in East Africa...
The US-trained and funded Puntland security forces were spotted on the frontlines, arriving from Galkayo, the regional capital of Mudug, which witnesses terror attacks in the past.

The troops have been deployed to the region to stop the al-Shabaab fighters fleeing from the ongoing army offensive in southern Somalia, who are trying to sneak into Puntland.

Puntland is on alert since the war on al-Shabaab started last year as the regional state has been dealing with the holy warrior group and ISIS-linked fighters in the Galgala hills for years.

The PSF commanding officers said they will contribute to the Somali-led campaign against al-Shabaab in Somalia, which President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud declared in August 2022.

The regional states in Somalia are all involved in the current war after losing patience with the al-Shabaab blockades and continued attacks that hamper the state-building process.

has said that it has killed the head of ISIS operations in the Bari region, whose name was identified as Abu-Albara Al Amani.

A statement from the Puntland Police said that Abu-Albara was killed in an attack by the ISIS group on Wednesday night on the cop shoppe in Balidhidin district.

Abu Albara Al Amani was from the Amhara region of Æthiopia and he recruited many Æthiopians to join the ISIS-linked group in Puntland.

In July 2021, Abu Albara was appointed as the head of ISIS operations, after the former head of operations of that group, Abu Waleed al-Muhajir, was killed in an operation.

Al-Muhajir died in the raid by the Puntland security forces in the vicinity of the al-Miskaad mountains, as noted in the Puntland Police statement.

On the other hand, one Puntland Police officer was killed in the attack by ISIS on the cop shoppe in Balidhidin district, according to the statement.

Al-Qaeda claims the death of the 14 soldiers in the center of Mali
AQIM claims the attack reported yesterday.
[AFRICANEWS] At least 14 Malian soldiers were killed and 11 injured on Tuesday in festivities with jihadists in the centre of the country, according to an army report on Thursday, an attack claimed by al-Qaeda with different figures.

The previous report communicated by officers of the army and the gendarmerie on condition of anonymity reported the day before at least 12 Malian soldiers were killed during these fights which took place between Mopti and Ségou after several attacks carried out against the army with homemade bombs.

"Enemy side", the Malian army claims to have neutralized "31 terrorists", in a statement sent to AFP.

The jihadists of the Support Group for Islam and Moslems (GSIM, JNIM in Arabic), affiliated with al-Qaeda, for their part grabbed credit for a " double ambush having targeted Malian soldiers and mercenaries from the Wagner group in the region of Mopti", in a blurb authenticated by the American NGO SITE, specialized in the follow-up of radical groups, consulted Thursday by AFP.

The first attack was carried out "with a mine" on the road between Tenenkou and Macina during which "an unknown number of Malian soldiers and Wagner mercenaries were killed and maimed".

It was followed by a second assault "with three bombs" between Koumara and Macina in which "five Wagner mercenaries and seven Malian soldiers were killed" and dozens of others injured", according to the JNIM organization which " recognizes the death of five deaders".

Some countries accuse the junta in power in Mali of having recourse to the private paramilitary company Wagner, reputed to be close to the Kremlin, which Bamako denies.

Iran executes purported British-Iranian spy by hanging
[Rudaw] Iran
...Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979...
carried out the death sentence
...the barbaric practice of sentencing a murderer to be punished for as long as his/her/its victim is dead...
of Iranian-British dual national Alireza Akbari on charges of spying for the United Kingdom’s intelligence agency and threatening the Islamic republic’s internal and external security, the judiciary’s Mizan Online website reported Saturday.

Akbari, an ex-deputy defense minister, was hanged for "corruption on Earth and for harming the country’s internal and external security by passing on intelligence" to the UK, Mizan said without specifying the date of his execution.

Mizan condemned Akbari for allegedly being a member of the UK’s M16 intelligence agency and for purportedly having a hand in the killing of top Iranian nuclear scientist Mohsen Fakhrizadeh almost three years ago, repeating the same accusations previously issued against him.

Akbari’s execution came after he was found guilty of the charges brought against him for spying for the UK and the rejection of his appeal on Wednesday.

There are a number of dual and foreign nationals being held in Iranian prisons on charges of spying for foreign governments with rights groups accusing Tehran of using them as bargaining chips to gain concessions from world powers.

In its annual world report on global rights conditions published on Thursday, Human Rights Watch (HRW) slammed Iran for conducting unfair trials and obtaining confessions under duress, as well as for charges brought against dual nationals.

"Iranian courts, and particularly revolutionary courts, regularly fall far short of providing fair trials and use confessions likely obtained under torture as evidence in court," the report read.

"The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps’ (IRGC) Intelligence Organization continued to arrest Iranian dual and foreign nationals on vague charges such as "cooperating with a hostile state," it added.
