Clashes Between Taliban and NRF Forces in Baghlan’s Andarab Leave Dozens Dead and Wounded
[8a.m.Media] Clashes between Taliban
...Arabic for students...
and NRF forces in Andarab districts of Baghlan province left dozens dead and maimed.

Local sources confirmed on Monday that the festivities between the Taliban and National Resistance® Front (NRF) forces started last night following a Taliban campaign launched in the villages of Taghanak, Khej and Bagh Dara in Andrab, Baghlan province.

NRF front man, Sibghatullah Ahmadi, confirmed the skirmishes in Baghlan on his Facebook page, detailing that several Taliban attacks on NRF outposts in Andarab were repelled.

Casualties have been inflicted on both sides, but the exact toll is not immediately determined. However,
we can't all be heroes. Somebody has to sit on the curb and applaud when they go by...
there are reports indicating that Khair Mohammad Andrabi, a prominent NRF commander, was killed last night along with his subordinates following a shootout with the Taliban. Hasht-e Subh cannot confirm the authenticity of these reports. Taliban officials have also refused to comment on these skirmishes.

Taliban (IEA) Bans Two Female Training Centers in Kabul & Herat
[Khaama (Afghanistan)] Roya Mahboob, the Founder of the Afghan Girls Robotic Team tweeted on Monday that the Taliban
...Arabic for students...
authorities forcibly shut the education centers in Herat
...a venerable old Persian-speaking city in western Afghanistan, populated mostly by Tadjiks, which is why it's not as blood-soaked as areas controlled by Pashtuns...
and Kabul. More than a thousand female students were taking pieces training in business, Robotics, coding, and Information Communications Technology.

Following the latest decree by the Ministry of Higher Education of the interim regime banning women’s university education, the dreams of thousands of school and university girls were buried.

Afghanistan’s Taliban regime gradually started implementing extremely strict practices with regard to women’s education and employment, prompting worldwide criticisms. According to the ruling regime’s interpretations of Islamic Sharia, girls and women in Afghanistan were not fully complying with the established rules and regulations in universities and work environments. As a consequence of which, women have been barred from attending universities, and training centers as well as working with private or foreign non-governmental organizations until further notice.
Empty classroom after the Taliban authorities closed the Training center in Kabul and Herat.

The extremely harsh move of the Taliban administration was accompanied by condemnations on national and global levels, calling on the ruling regime to revoke their decisions. It also sparked protests in different parts of the country, as female university students and female toot the streets and chanted "education is our right".

Whether the Taliban authorities change their policy regarding girls’ and women’s education is up to them, however, women have been completely erased from public life in Afghan society, with no hope, prospect, or future ahead.

Daily Evacuation Brief December 27, 2022
[AfghanDigest] LAST 24 HOURS
  • TALIBAN POLICE CHIEF KILLED IN ISIS-K BOMB ATTACK IN BADAKHSHAN – Abdullah Abu Omar, the regional police chief, and 2 of his bodyguards were killed when his vehicle was targeted by a roadside bomb blast on Monday. The blast occurred near the police headquarters in Faizabad. Taliban authorities claimed that 4 individuals had been arrested in connection with the bombing. Omar is considered to be the highest-ranking Taliban official to have been killed since the Taliban took power in the country. ISIS-K claimed credit for the attack while an NRF spokesman attributed the incident to inter-Taliban conflict. Sources at the Ministry of the Interior said the report had shocked several ministry leaders as reinforcements had been dispatched to Faizabad over the previous three months and several security upgrades had been made to Taliban administrative offices in the city.

  • 40 TALIBAN LEADERS SEND LETTER TO SUPREME LEADER ASKING TO REVERSE BAN ON WOMEN’S EDUCATION – Several influential Taliban leaders have sent a letter to Mullah Haibatullah Ankhundzada in Kandahar, asking him to consider reversing bans on the following:

    • Allow women to pursue University educations

    • Allow women to work

    • Allow girls to attend schools from grades 7-12

  • A source close to the advisory group of the Supreme Leader claims Hibatullah dismissed the letter and reportedly claimed the Taliban leaders were being influenced by ‘foreign elements’. Several reports have been received stating that Pakistan’s intelligence service (the ISI) has been involved in mediating some sort of settlement between the Kabul and Kandahar camps and we assess that this cooperation is what Hibatullah is referring to. As the war of words continues to escalate and Hibatullah and his advisors remain entrenched in their beliefs, it seems likely the two most powerful Ministers (Yaqoub and Haqqani) will be forced to take action.

  • KABUL RESIDENTS SAY POWER OUTAGES CONTINUE – While a new power importation agreement with Turkmenistan is in the works, residents of the capital continue to bemoan the daily blackouts they face. The power distribution lines from Uzbekistan continue to frustrate the national power company (Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat - DABS) and a 50% reduction has been noted since November. Both Uzbekistan and Tajikistan have stated publicly that power exports would be curbed to satisfy unanticipated domestic demand. However, it is not clear if these statements are affecting exports to Afghanistan. Currently, DABS says it is supplying 3 hours of power per day and 3 hours at night to residential customers while factories receive 10 hours. Local residents dispute these numbers though. The Turkmen power deal is not expected to impact Afghanistan until well into 2023.

CONFLICT TRACKER
Baghlan: In a continuation of Sunday’s clashes, Taliban forces attacked National Resistance Front (NRF) in the Andarab district and successfully killed prominent Resistance commander Khair Mohammad Andrabi. The attacks began late yesterday evening against three NRF positions near Taghanak, Khej, and Bagh Dara. It is believed that one of the positions was overrun, but the other two repelled the Taliban attackers. There have been reports of casualties on both sides, but an accurate figure has not yet been reported. Some reports indicated Resistance forces ran out if ammunition during the engagement, lending credence to rumours that the NRF is dealing with logistical issues.

NEXT 24 HOURS
MORE PAKISTAN AIRCRAFT/DRONES REPORTED OVER DURAND LINE – While drones have been filmed flying along the border in the vicinity of the Durand Line since the artillery exchanges earlier this month, manned aircraft have not been reported. Over the last twenty-four hours, several sorties were made by Pakistani fighter/bomber aircraft. The planes reportedly made their flights well inside Pakistan’s territory and a source in the Pakistani Army could not elaborate on if the flights were intended to elicit a response from the Taliban or the TTP.

FSB reports on the detention of terrorists in Dagestan and Chechnya
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[KavkazUzel] In Dagestan and Chechnya, members of the interregional terrorist community were detained, who, on the instructions of emissaries from the Islamic State *, transported people to Syria and Ukraine to take part in hostilities against the Russian military, the FSB said.
What interest does ISIS have in the Ukraine?
According to investigators, on the instructions of the emissaries of the international terrorist organization "Islamic State" (IG), which is banned in Russia by the court, their subordinates transported local residents from Dagestan and Chechnya to Syria and Ukraine to participate in hostilities against the Russian military.

"From December 2021 to the present, in the Republic of Dagestan, the Chechen Republic, the Tyumen region and Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug, 11 Russian citizens, including the organizer of the terrorist community, have been detained and arrested by court decisions. 8 participants who are part of the MTO in the Syrian Arab Republic have been declared on the international wanted list," the FSB said on its website today.

Searches were carried out at the place of residence of the accused, during which the security forces seized means of communication and making payments, as well as computers in which photos and videos were found showing how members of a terrorist society are fighting in Syria in the ranks of IS and in Ukraine as part of nationalist units . The investigation believes that the organizer and 18 participants created an interregional network, the task of which was to supply the IG * with resources, including funding, the report said.

The "Caucasian Knot" wrote that on November 2, the FSB reported about the detention of a resident of Stavropol, who was suspected of preparing an arson attack on an administrative building on the instructions of a Ukrainian radical organization.

TTP Threat, Rings Alarm for Pakistan
[Khaama (Afghanistan)] Following the terrorist attack in the capital Islamabad last week, the re-emergence of Tehrik-e-Taliban
...Arabic for students...
Pakistain [TTP] should not be a surprise for Pakistain.

With the return of the Taliban to Afghanistan in August 2021, the dynamic of TTP operations has changed in Pak tribal areas and other major cities to a great extent. Afghan Taliban, TTP’s ideological twin brother’s success in neighboring Afghanistan gave them extra momentum and energy to expand their operations across Pakistain.

Since the beginning of the year, the TTP has conducted hundreds of attacks mostly targeting police and army headquarters in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa region, and Quetta Balochistan
...the Pak province bordering Kandahar and Uruzgun provinces in Afghanistan and Sistan Baluchistan in Iran. Its native Baloch propulation is being displaced by Pashtuns and Punjabis and they aren't happy about it...
in Particular. Through political statements, protests and popular movements such as the Pashtun Tahafuz Movement [PTM], the people of KP have been ringing alarm bells, demanding action against the threats of the Death Eater groups.

Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa has been the worst hit: the TTP and its affiliates have carried out 148 attacks against the province’s police since the start of this year.

However,
those who apply themselves too closely to little things often become incapable of great things...
the central government’s reluctance to act decisively against terrorist groups will lead to further chaos and instability in the country. According to unconfirmed reports, Baloch Separatists and other holy warrior groups have joined hands with the TTP to further expand their operations and gain territories in tribal areas.

Undermining the potential of the TTP and their affiliated groups mainly operating in Balochistan and KP regions will now spread to other parts of the country as well. Since the TTP called off their year-long ceasefire with the government of Pakistain, they have intensified their operation, the most recent of which took place in Islamabad on Friday.

Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan intensifies attacks creating chaos
[ANI): The Tehrik-e-Taliban
...mindless ferocity in a turban...
Pakistain (TTP) with its supporters has attacked defense establishments in Pakistain 148 times within a year. And the rise of the Taliban in Afghanistan has given these terror attacks by TTP a boost. But the central government seems reluctant to take action against them, Khaama Press reported.

The TTP in the last year has conducted hundreds of terror attacks on the police and army headquarters in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and Quetta in the Balochistan
...the Pak province bordering Kandahar and Uruzgun provinces in Afghanistan and Sistan Baluchistan in Iran. Its native Baloch propulation is being displaced by Pashtuns and Punjabis and they aren't happy about it...
region. The Khaama Press article quoted unconfirmed reports which said that other holy warrior groups have joined forces with the TTP to expand their terrorist operation in tribal areas of the country.

The Khaama Press in its report also mentioned that these attacks can increase in number as the TTP recently ended the ceasefire that they had with the Pak authorities.

However,
the man who has no enemies isn't anybody and has never done anything...
the common people in Pakistain have been showing their aggression in the matter via protests like the Pashtun Tahafuz Movement [PTM] demanding the establishment to take action against these groups, according to Khaama Press.

Previously, on December 23 a suicide kaboom shook Islamabad killing two conspirators and a policeman. Along with this at least three coppers and seven passers-by were maimed in the bombing.

Pakistain's capital city took place nine miles from the garrison city of Rawalpindi, home of the military and government spy agencies.

"Security has been re-alert in Islamabad. Carrying weapons is not allowed under any circumstances. Election-related meetings will not take place without the permission of the police. Election activities and corner meetings will be allowed inside the four walls," Islamabad Police tweeted.

Police said the blast took place when coppers spotted a car and ordered the driver to halt for routine checking. Instead of stopping, its driver detonated explosives hidden inside. A female passenger in the car also was killed, Suhail Zafar Chattha, a police brass hat in Islamabad told news hounds at the scene.

The TV footage showed a burning car as coppers cordoned off the area. Residents said they saw coppers on cycle of violences chasing a car and ordering a man inside the vehicle to come out. Police confirmed that account, saying the suspect blew up the explosive-laden vehicle after being surrounded by coppers.

Pak Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif condemned the bombing and thanked the police. "Police officers stopped the bandidos bandidos bully boys by sacrificing their blood and the nation salutes its brave men," Sharif said in a statement.
The responsibility of the attack was later taken by TTP. In a statement, TTP announced that the killing was orchestrated because of the killing of their big shot.

This violence comes days after several Pak Taliban detainees overpowered guards at a counterterrorism center in north-western Pakistain after snatching police weapons and taking three officers hostage.

Shin Bet busts Gaza-directed terror cell planning ‘major’ bombing in Israel
[IsraelTimes] Four West Bank Paleostinians detained earlier this month over alleged plot, bomb hidden in fire extinguisher seized; Lapid hails arrests.

The Shin Bet security agency on Monday said it recently foiled an attempt by terror groups in the Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
Strip to carry out a bombing attack in Israel using West Bank terror operatives

On December 14, security forces arrested four Paleostinians in the West Bank over their involvement in the plot, and seized a primed bomb, the agency said.

According to the Shin Bet, the attack plan was directed by the Popular Resistance® Committees and al-Aqsa Martyrs’ Brigades terror groups in the Gaza Strip. al-Aqsa Martyrs’ Brigades is loosely tied to the Fatah party of Paleostinian Authority President the ineffectual Mahmoud Abbas
...aka Abu Mazen, a graduate of the prestigious unaccredited Patrice Lumumba University in Moscow with a doctorate in Holocaust Denial. While no Yasser Arafat, he has his own brand of evil, just a little more lowercase....
, but also has members in Gaza.

The Shin Bet said the groups planned a "significant terror attack in Israel" using a bomb hidden in a fire extinguisher. The device was seized before it could be planted in an Israeli city.

The group received its instructions from Ahmed Fathi Omar Hajaj, an explosives expert and resident of the northern Gaza Strip city of Jabaliya who is known to the Shin Bet, the agency said.

The Shin Bet also named four more terror operatives in the Gaza Strip who allegedly assisted in recruiting the West Bank attackers: Maha Ladawi, a resident of the Nuseirat refugee camp; and Jihad Ahmed, Sabari Aram, and Amin Zakot, residents of the southern Gazook city of Rafah.

The detained operatives in the West Bank were named by the agency as Younis Odeh from the village of al-Ras, Haled Marei from the town of Bal’a, Ahmed Taher Jaradat from the city of Jenin, and Kayes a-Shiab from the city of Qabatiya.

Outgoing Prime Minister Yair Lapid hailed the arrests, vowing that security forces would "reach anyone who tries to hurt the citizens of Israel."

He said the Gaza-directed cell was "planning to carry out a major terror attack in Israel."

"The war against terror infrastructures and turbans continues every day, in all arenas. Security forces continue to act, constantly, to thwart any attempt to harm us," Lapid said in a statement.

The Shin Bet warned that Gaza-based terrorist groups were increasingly trying to carry out attacks in the West Bank and Israel.

Second boatload of Rohingya arrives in Indonesia in as many days
[BenarNews] About 185 gaunt and bone-tired Rohingya refugees landed on the coast of Pidie regency in Indonesia’s Aceh province Monday, police said, as reports emerged that another boatload of Rohingya may have sunk at sea.

Two NGOs confirmed to BenarNews that the new arrivals were from a boat that was at sea for about a month and stranded as food and water supplies dwindled. As many as 20 of the passengers perished, NGO sources said, while the refugees journeyed south across the Andaman Sea as they fled refugee camps in Bangladesh.

Citing information from refugees, a fisherman in Pidie said they told him that more than two dozen people had died and others threw their bodies overboard.

"The group consists of 83 adult males, 70 adult women and 32 children," Aceh provincial police front man Winardy said, adding that sick refugees were receiving medical treatment.

He declined to give more details.

The boat was the second one carrying Rohingya to land in Aceh — Indonesia’s westernmost province — in as many days. On Christmas Day, 57 Rohingya males arrived in Aceh Besar regency aboard a wooden boat. Thirteen of them were minors, according to the International Organization for Migration (IOM).

A video shared by a local resident showed Monday’s 185 Rohingya newcomers, including women and kiddies, crumpled on the beach, visibly weak, exhausted and emaciated. In the distressing footage, some in the crowd could be heard wailing.

"The refugees were stranded because of very high waves due to the East Wind season," said Marfian, a leader of the local fishing community. "According to their information, 30 people died and their bodies were thrown into the sea. We don't know how long they were at sea, and we received information that they were on the open sea a month ago.

The festivities resulted in killing one of the attackers and arresting another who was wearing an boom belt, while the others managed to flee to nearby neighborhoods.

The Asayish and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) have started combing the area looking for the other operatives and has managed, as a result, to arrest two others.

After the attack, the Interior Committee of the Raqqa Civil Council, affiliated with the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES), announced a total curfew in the city until further notice to protect civilians.

Four Asayish and SDF fighters bit the dust during the festivities, the statement added.

The ISIS attack aims at destabilizing the region, the Asayish said, adding that they would continue to pursue ISIS bully boys.

The Asayish asked the city’s residents to cooperate with their forces during the combing campaign and call the Internal Security Forces once they observe anything suspicious.

Earlier today, ISIS grabbed credit for the assault, and alleged that 10 Asayish fighters bit the dust during the operation.
An attack by Islamic State militants in the city of Raqqa on Monday killed six members of the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces, which has played a prominent role in the fight against the group, SDF officials said.

SDF commander Mazloum Abdi said in a statement that an IS cell had targeted security and military buildings in the city, killing six fighters and wounding an unspecified number of others.

He added that intelligence gathered by the group “indicates serious preparations by (IS) cells.”

Siamand Ali, a spokesman for the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces, told The Associated Press that a group of five people believed to be part of an IS sleeper cell, two of them wearing explosive belts, had attacked checkpoints and guard points of Raqqa’s Internal Security Forces.

During the ensuing clashes, he said, one of the attackers was killed and another arrested. SDF and Internal Security Forces units are searching for the remaining attackers, he said.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, a Britain-based opposition war monitor, reported that the attack targeted an area containing the headquarters of the SDF’s Internal Security Forces, anti-terrorism units, and a military intelligence prison where about 200 IS prisoners are housed.

The observatory noted that the attack was the 16th operation carried out by suspected IS sleeper cells in SDF-controlled areas since the beginning of this month.

Also on Monday, the observatory and the National Front for Liberation, a coalition of Turkish-backed rebel groups reported that six members of the coalition were killed in clashes with the SDF and the Syrian army in the Aleppo countryside.

Abdi cast blame for the IS attack in Raqqa partially on Turkey, which has carried out a campaign of airstrikes against the SDF in northeast Syria since late November and threatened a ground operation. Abdi said the “terrorist activity coincides with the continuous Turkish threats to target the security and stability of the region.”

Last week, US Central Command said that American forces had arrested six Islamic State group militants in three raids in eastern Syria. The SDF said separately that its fighters had detained an IS militant who managed cells in eastern Syria.

Iran slams Britain after ‘network’ including UK nationals arrested in protests
[IsraelTimes] Tehran says London playing ’non-constructive’ role in unrest; claims Britannia inciting riots, citing 7 nabbed by Revolutionary Guards, including dual citizens

Iran
...The nation is noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence...
on Monday blasted Britannia’s "non-constructive role" a day after the Islamic Theocratic Republic announced the arrest of a UK-linked "network" involved in the three-month protests sparked by Mahsa Amini’s death.

Protests have gripped Iran since the September 16 death of Iranian-Kurdish Amini, 22, after her arrest in Tehran for an alleged breach of the country’s strict dress code for women.

Tehran generally calls the protests "riots" and accuses its foreign foes, including Britannia, of stoking the unrest.

State news agency IRNA reported Sunday the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps in the country’s south had arrested seven people, including dual nationals, who had operated "under the direct guidance of elements from Britannia."

Asked about their arrest during a Monday presser, foreign ministry front man Nasser Kanani said "some countries, especially the one you mentioned, had a non-constructive role in relation to the recent developments in Iran."

"Their role was quite provocative in inciting extremism and riots," Kanani said of the foreign nations.

The group, which IRNA described as an "organized network," had been "leading subversive conspiracies, especially during the recent riots," the report quoted a Guards statement as saying.

The seven arrested in Kerman province "have been involved in planning, leading and producing content as well as field actions in the recent riots," it added.

Some of them are "dual nationals who were trying to escape from the country," the statement said without elaborating.

Iran’s judiciary said last month that 40 foreigners, including dual nationals, had been arrested in the unrest.

The foreign ministry’s Kanani said Monday that "during the recent riots, several citizens of European countries have been arrested with varying degrees of involvement in the riots."

"Consular and political information has been given to their respective countries," he added.

"The role of the citizens of a certain number of countries, especially European and Western European countries... is quite clear and proved."

A number of Westerners, including dual nationals, had already been in jug in Iran before the protests broke out in September.

Western governments have accused Tehran of employing a "hostage-taking" policy aimed at extracting concessions or secure the release of Iranians held abroad.
