| #5 The latest from the Times of Israel’s liveblog: Close to 30 protesters have been arrested on the third day of an ongoing pro-Palestinian demonstration on the grounds of Yale University, the Yale Daily reports. According to the report, the protesters set up a tent encampment overnight as they demanded that the university divest from weapons manufacturers amid the ongoing war between Israel and Hamas in Gaza. Some of the arrested protesters are students at the university, the report adds, but does not specify how many. In a statement to the college newspaper, Yale Police Lieutenant Roosevelt Martinez says the protesters were arrested for trespassing, but does not provide further details. |
