#3  Much of Martha Vickers footage from "The Big Sleep" was cut at the insistence of Humphry Bogart.

Both her looks and her performance upstaged Lauren Bacall and since her previous movie had bombed at the box office the studio agree to please Bogart by increasing her role at the expense of Vickers'.
