Israel says primed for 'significant' three-pronged offensive in Gaza Strip
2023-10-15
[GEO.TV] The Israeli military announced Saturday that it was prepared to execute a wide array of "significant ground operations" in the Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with an iron fist by Hamas with about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...

This statement suggests the potential for a ground and water invasion of the Gaza Strip, which has been under siege and faced unprecedented Arclight airstrike
...KABOOM!...
s. Authorities in Gaza report over 2,200 casualties, including many children, and nearly 10,000 maimed.

Israel had issued a deadline for residents of the northern half of Gaza, including Gaza City, to move south. Subsequently, they extended the offer of safe passage on two main roads until 4:00 pm (1300 GMT) for those fleeing the north.

Thousands of Paleostinians fled the northern Gaza Strip on Saturday in anticipation of an impending Israeli ground assault. Meanwhile,
...back at the pond, Gloria again dodged the questing tip of the giant frog's tongue and ran for her life...
Israel continued its airstrikes on the area.

Israeli troops amassed around the Gaza Strip, and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visited infantry units, instructing them to prepare for "the next stage," without specifying further.

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken
...71st United States secretary of state and a leading light of the corrupt and inept Biden administration. He previously served as deputy national security advisor from 2013 to 2015 and deputy secretary of state from 2015 to 2017 under the corrupt and inept Obama administration. He advocated for the 2003 invasion of Iraq while serving as the Democratic staff director of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee from 2002 to 2008. He was a foreign policy advisor for the Biden 2008 presidential campaign. During his tenure in the Obama administration, Blinken helped craft B.O.'s policy on Afghanistan, Pakistan, and the nuclear program of Iran. We all saw how well each of those worked. After leaving government service, Blinken moved into the private sector, co-founding WestExec Advisors, a lobbying firm...

...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. The nation is today noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence. The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan. The abbreviation IRGC is the same idea as Stürmabteilung (or SA). The term Supreme Guide is a the modern version form of either Duce or Führer or maybe both. They hate Jews Zionists Jews. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol...

...an Iranian satrapy currently ruled by Hassan Nasrallah situated on the eastern Mediterranean, conveniently adjacent to Israel. Formerly inhabited by hardy Phoenecian traders, its official language is now Arabic, with the usual unpleasant side effects. The Leb civil war, between 1975 and 1990, lasted a little over 145 years and produced 120,000 fatalities. The average length of a ceasefire was measured in seconds. The Lebs maintain a precarious sectarian balance among Shiites, Sunnis, and about a dozen flavors of Christians, plus Armenians, Georgians, and who knows what else? It is the home of the original Hezbollah, which periodically starts a war with the Zionist Entity, gets Beirut pounded to rubble, and then declares victory and has a parade. The Lebs have the curious habit of periodically murdering their heads of state or prime ministers...
do not become involved in the conflict, aiming to contain the situation.

#19  Water to tempt them south. bomb the north flat. turn northern gaza into israeli farmland. selectively kill hamas & hezbolah. no gaza immigrants anywhere.

Now that makes sense!

#17  We already know from Israeli military sources they delayed the offensive as it has been very cloudy and windy the past 3 days which disrupts drone activity and surveillance platforms.

Water was also only turned on for the southern part of Gaza that Israel told the civilians to flee to. So might be a bit of a carrot to encourage them to go.

#14  You can't break Hamas - they'll Hamas (or ISIS, or Hizballah)

#13  If the goal is to break Hamas, I am hopeful that they can use facial recognition to delouse any herding civilians.

#11  It seems to me that osturing from the border coupled with water only in the southern end of Gaza will encourage the residents to move out of the north despite Hamas efforts to keep them in place as human shields.

But 60,000 British citizens living in Gaza? One can’t imagine the government wants them to come “home”.

Let the blockade degrade the effectiveness of the prepared defenses as much as possible and then, methodically follow the Roman model for Carthage, salt to taste!

#9  One will get you five they ain't going in.

They ain't going in right away. That would be suicidal given the nature of urban combat and that Hamas is well-prepared. If I were me, I'd spend a good while shutting down the tunnel system and blowing up anything and everyone I could reach by air or artillery.

#8  So what's the thinking here? If Israel can hit 70-80% of their military goals without going in, then don't go in?

#7  Water back on, what a mistake. My sense has been since the Mooselimbs have had decades of preparation, that the subterranean defense systems, command detonated massive explosives, semsors, biohazards, surface AP and AT mines, sniper positions, all would make ground force incursions extremely costly. Total blockade, including power, food, water, fuel and extensive use of deep penetration munitions seemed the best tactic. Demonstrations of IDF ground forces on the edge but not actually crossing the LD/LC, and long delays without any supplies or water, would adversely impact actual Hamas operators and drive them to the surface. Sadly, the dynamic of media/political pressure on the Puppet Show is having the predicted effects.

Water is back ON in southern Gaza amid Israeli military siege after deal was struck between President Joe Biden and PM Netanyahu

#5  If the goal is taking down Hamas, I would use special ops and use regular trips is they get ambushed. If you take territory, you inherit the civilians.

#3  Not taking that bet Injun. Cutting off logistics takes a bit longer but less costly. Persistent surveillance and an aggressive program of Whac-A-Mole should keep everyone on their toes.
