| Spacex Sued for not Hiring Migrants |

| [HotAir] SpaceX hires American citizens and people with Green Cards but doesn’t hire asylum seekers and refugees. This seems rational and actually mirrors a policy practiced by NASA. Both do a lot of national security work and it makes sense to restrict the pool of applicants. It is hardly unduly burdensome. The United States is a big country and it is no tragedy that SpaceX has restricted its hiring to permanent residents of the country. Now it is true that not all SpaceX jobs are high-security positions, but it is difficult to see why the Justice Department is putting a laser focus on SpaceX’s hiring practices for its baristas and demanding that the company identify every non-citizen and asylee who ever applied to SpaceX and pay them back pay for not being hired. Don’t they have enough to do covering up for Hunter Biden and terrorizing every Republican, Catholic, pro-lifer, and Donald Trump? If that is against the law, the law should be changed. Moreover, it means our Justice Department needs to slim down because too many investigators have too much time on their hands. Most absurd is the fact that anybody would believe that this has nothing to do with politics. It is a prime example of the weaponization of government. Democrats up to the president have made it clear that they are going after Elon Musk for going off the reservation, and the Justice Department and the SEC have each opened investigations into Musk’s businesses and have been harassing him mercilessly. Politicians put a target on his back and you can expect case after case to be brought against him. It's worth noting that NASA doesn't hire non-citizens. Merrick Garland is proving himself to be the most corrupt Attorney General in American history, and it is shocking to me that he hasn’t been impeached by the House. | #4 There are 'folk stories' in the food industry about government departments acting like independent nations. One was about a meat packing plant in [Amarillo, TX, supposedly] where the OSHA saw a line of 'swinging beef' carcasses moving over a floor trench to catch the drips and offal -- 'No good! Install a safety barrier immediately!' Okay, so they did and the FDA inspector showed up and had an aneurysm because 'that barrier can can cause contamination so remove it immediately!' ...the fact that OSHA had mandated it didn't make any difference. Supposedly they just made the barrier removable and only put it up when OSAHA was due... Amusing if cynical story and possibly true about the 'Food Biz' of 20 odd years ago. TL/DR: Having two government agencies demanding contradictory things at the same time is believable and doesn't require actual 'political malice'. The fact that SpaceX couldn't "make a few calls' and solve the issue might imply that malice exists. |

| #2 In a post on X, the SpaceX CEO said the company “was told repeatedly that hiring anyone who was not a permanent resident of the United States would violate international arms trafficking law, which would be a criminal offense.” He was following the law for 4 years now the weaponized government says he is not. These idiots really want us to start shooting, don't they? |
