On August 24, 2022, the US opens an embassy in Sudan, 25 years after its closure. On September 28 , 2022, the US Ambassador warned Sudan against finalizing the deal on the Russian naval base (in Port Sudan) leaders and leaders of pro-democracy parties.
On December 7, 2022, Blinken threatens a travel ban due to the possible collapse of the framework agreement. On February 12, 2023, Sudan confirmed the deal with Russia for a naval base. The key players are Lavrov and Burkhan.
On February 16, 2023, the Biden administration allocated $288 million in humanitarian aid to Sudan
On March 9, 2023, Victoria Nuland visited Sudan to "discuss democratization"
On April 8, 2023, the conflict between the Sudanese army (General Burhan) and the RRF paramilitary group (Dagalo) intensified
