Uvalde covers up records on top cop Pete Arredondo who led the bungled police response to the school shooter
2022-06-14
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news]
  • Lawyers hired by the City of Uvalde, Texas, have written a letter to state attorney general Ken Paxton trying to wriggle out of divulging information to the public

  • In a letter penned Wednesday, law firm Denton Navarro Rocha Bernal & Zech said the City received 148 requests for information from May 25 through June 7

  • The city claims it has no obligation to comply with any of the requests, citing 52 excuses that it claims makes the information 'excepted' from disclosure

  • Among the information the city is trying to hide are records on Pete Arredondo, the school district police chief who bungled the response to the mass shooting

  • Arredondo was in charge of the police response to the shooting at Robb Elementary School last month that led to 21 deaths

#11  He's a special kind of coward. He could have let his troops race in and take all the risks and I'm sure some would have done so. This top cop would have been in zero physical danger.

He was afraid of political heat if anything went wrong and figured doing nothing was better for his career than going in if something went wrong.

#10  Something similar didn't go down the same in Dallas.

"Stogner said police arrived within two minutes of getting a call about a gunman at the gym."

No hesitation. No Mother-May-I.

#7  I would still like to know how and where the kid got $10k worth of kit and weapons on 20 hours a week of Taco Bell paychecks. Based on his inability to drive down a straight road he could not have had even a learner’s permit. The guns are serialized and gun records are tracked. Those are the records that I want to know about. Arrendondo is a police chief in a drug corridor; I would be more interested in his financial records as opposed to his training resume.

#6  All of this is overblown and just needs to go away.

NOT.

#5  Sounds like a full house cleaning in order. If the pols won't, they need to go too as in "We have neither trust nor confidence" in those who sit.

#4  If this cockroach had any shame, he would've eaten his gun already. He has no problem around a buffet, apparently

#3  Uvalde must have lawyered up with council that is encouraging them to resist culpability due to their gross negligence and reckless disregard of fulfilling their lawful responsibilities as police during a mass shooting. In other words they are still being irresponsible to the extreme.

#2  Bungled? What do you mean, bungled? He chickened out. There was a LatinX tranny with a gun in there! He could get shot! He's not running into a building like that, thankyouverymuch.

But it's making him look like a coward, which he isn't obviously, just concerned about his safety like a rational person, so obviously he had to block the parents from going in to get their kids. All of this is overblown and just needs to go away.

Imagine if he was a DC elite and could actually make this happen. They successfully cover up their despicable behavior all the time. Anyone who brings it up gets called a conspiracy theorist.
