Russia warns against allowing Ukrainian military to use foreign airfields
2022-03-07
[JPost] Yassss, anything else M'Lord? The Russians don't want those Polish MIGs into play. What are they gonna do? Bomb or close Polish airspace? Everybody's got hostages
The Russian Defense Ministry warned Romania and other countries against allowing Ukrainian military aircraft to use their airfields, saying that doing so could be regarded as "the involvement of these states in an armed conflict," according to TASS.

"Practically all combat-ready aircraft of the Kiev regime have been destroyed," said Defense Ministry spokesperson Maj.-Gen. Igor Konashenkov. "At the same time, we are reliably aware of Ukrainian combat aircraft that previously flew to Romania and other border countries. Please note that the use of the airfield network of these countries for the deployment of Ukrainian military aviation with subsequent use against the Russian armed forces can be regarded as the involvement of these states in an armed conflict"

The Defense Ministry additionally claimed that the airfield of the Ukrainian Air Force in Vinnytsia was destroyed by a high-precision weapon by the Russian Armed Forces on Sunday.

Ukrainian journalist Andriy Tsaplienko had claimed that the missile was fired from the disputed territory Transnistria - a former Soviet breakaway state situated between Moldova and Ukraine - although Transnistria has denied this.

The Ukrainian Air Force later announced that the attack on Vinnytsia was carried out with eight missiles fired from Russian bombers from over the Black Sea.

Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky said Russian rockets had completely destroyed the civilian airport of the central-western region capital of Vinnytsia on Sunday.

#7  The west, esp America, has a huge asymmetric advantage in the air. Much more than Russia has against Ukraine. It's a bluff because if Russia ever acted on it, their Air Force and armored columns in Ukraine would be destroyed in days. That's from a standing still start, since the Biden Admin refuses to prepare.

#5  I'm not sure why Ukranian airfields wouldn't work just fine since the Russian airforce seems mostly missing in action. Russian Special forces hitting them on the ground maybe?

#4  Nah, they are just agents anymore of the decision process who have networks laid. Now, getting Remington to raise the avatar and pledge ammo to Ukraine (plus shipping and handling) smells of a Neocon network.

Now, that said, there are reports that this news item was dismissed by Poland, as this is that 2 week old story, not today's reconsideration.

I had a neo-Klingon ask my opinion about the situation. I asked "Do you think serious people are in charge?" Which got a dramatic pause. Well, here then is a Agit-Prop piece gone stupid wrong. Either they were considering Flying Tiger Club, and Poland was like, don't talk about Flying Tiger Club -or- was considered and Poland was like Not Interested in That Way. Which makes this morning's prop piece on a Major Media Network totally non-nonsensical, breathless reporting on a 2 week old debunked float and airing Fake News, or just too stupid to check the date.

#1  Which gives you an idea of how Russia thinks of Belarus, as they move troops and material through that "country".
