- Mali's military junta officially kicks out the French ambassador.
- He was given 72 hours to collect his belongings and leave the country.
- The reason was the statements of the French Foreign Minister, who called the authorities of Mali "illegal" and accused them of doing business with PMC "Wagner".
As a result, in Mali they called the statements of the French outrageous and hostile, after which they pointed to the door.
Mali's state press says it's time for France to be reminded that Mali is not a French prefecture, but a sovereign country that decides how and with whom to do business. France should restrain its colonial reflexes and stop interfering in the affairs of its former colony.
The next step could be a formal demand for the withdrawal of all French troops from the territory of Mali.
The French Defense Ministry has already stated that if the cost of staying troops in Mali becomes too high, they will be withdrawn.
PS. In neighboring Burkina Faso, Russian flags continue to flicker at rallies. In the press associated with the new military junta, it is stated that Russia can become a more profitable partner for the country than the fading colonial empire of France.
Local residents in an interview say that Russian support will allow Burkina Faso to gain full independence from France and put an end to the colonial legacy.
Meanwhile, the junta was appointing Lieutenant Colonel Paul-Henri Damiba as interim president of Burkina Faso. Damiba received his military education in France.
