The Russian deployment to Syria is game-changing.

It will alter the nature of international negotiations, compromise and weaken the cohesion and efforts of the U.S.-led anti-ISIS coalition, strengthen the Assad regime, and initiate direct Russo-Iranian military operations (suggesting the creation of a de facto Russo-Iranian military coalition, at least in Syria) for the first time.

The U.S. and its partners must fundamentally reassess their approach to the Syrian conflict in light of this critical inflection.

Here's what he's thinking: once whitey is cut down to size by Iranian bombs (or Russian bombs with Iranian-refined uranium) things will be better for blacks and they'll be able to throw off the shackes of the Ice People. Tartus hosts a Soviet-era naval supply and maintenance facility, under a 1971 agreement with Ba'athist Syria, which was—until the second year of the Syrian Civil War—staffed by Russian naval personnel. Most recently, the facility hosts the Amur class floating workshop PM-138, capable of providing technical maintenance to Russian warships deployed in the Mediterranean.

The Tartus facility can accommodate four medium-sized vessels only if both of its 100 meter long floating piers located on the inside of the northern breakwater were operational. It is not capable of hosting any of the Russian Navy's current major warships which range in length from the 129 meter Neustrashimyy frigate through the 163 meter Udaloy destroyer, and much less cruisers such as the 186.4 meter Slava class, the 252 meter Kirov class, and the 305 meter Kuznetsov class.

#1  "Game changer"....? The Russian, Syrian, Iranian troika is nothing new. They've been pals for a very long time. Let Putin have the Syrian sector and wish him well. His resources spent there will mean they won't be available elsewhere.
