2015-09-19
[EN.ZAMANALWSL.NET] Main Alawite neighborhoods of central city of Homs condemned governor's decision allowing displaced people of Sunni neighborhoods to come back home, saying the 'laggard' governor is letting hard boyz enter Homs again.

Abu Jawad al-Faouri, local activist, quotes eyewitnesses as saying Shabiha checkpoints, pro-Bashir al-Assad militiamen, have been eliminated from Bab Sbaa neighborhood and were replaced by military intelligence checkpoints to avoid any sectarian breaches.

Homs governorate intended to rehabilitate the deserted neighborhood of Bab Sbaa, a move raised concerns and fears of the Alawite minority.

Pro-regime social media pages said the decision of Homs governor Talal Barazi to allow displacement return back is dangerous.

On May 2014, rebels withdrew from the Old City of Homs after a deal brokered by UN allowed rebels to move to the northern countryside of the city after two years of siege. Since then thousands of families who fled the fight still displaced.

Last Wednesday, 8 people were maimed when a boom-mobile went off in al-Zahara, the mainly Alawites neighborhood in Homs. An attack came almost three weeks since a blast hit al-Zahra, killing 4 and wounding 19.
