[AA.TR] The bodies of 29 people, believed to be killed by Syrian regime forces, were removed Monday from water wells in Syria's northern province of Idlib, said a front man for the Idlib Civil Defense.
Some of the bodies have been in the wells for about a month and were reached Monday morning, Khalaf said. "We are continuing search efforts, as there may be more bodies in other wells in the region," he said, adding that the opposition forces lacked the necessary equipment to search wells filled with water. | #1 The Turks did that during WWI to deny the Brits access to water at the various oases dotting the desert. Either that or they would throw in a camel or a donkey. Killing a POW and using him to foul the water supply sort of kills two birds with one stone. I always wondered though if the Turks thought about what they would do if they retook the territory and needed water. |
