Franken: The Senate needs to talk more about climate change |
2013-04-24 |
"Squirrel!" [THEHILL] Sen. Al Franken (D-Minn.) suggested on Earth Day that the Senate should spend more time talking about climate change issues. "I'm here to suggest we talk more about climate change so that we can agree on taking action to address it," Franken said Monday. "The Senate cannot afford to ignore climate change, we need to talk about it." Franken pointed out that 98 out of 100 scientist say climate change is real and needs to be dealt with. He said people outside Washington, D.C., understand this. "Many of my other colleagues I suspect don't talk about climate change because it would require making some difficult choices," Franken said. "If we don't act now it will be far more costly later." |

#12 President and CEO of Global Green USA, Matt Petersen expressed enthusiasm at the idea: âI was honored when James [Houston] came to Global Green asking if we would be his charitable partner and beneficiary on Natural Beauty.â He concluded, âWhen an individual like James goes to great lengths to take responsibility and action, it helps inspire others to join the fight against environmental degradation and climate change.â He failed to mention the degradation of young women in the process. But hey, sex sells, right? |

#11 In other Earth Day News: Emma Watson Gets Naked For Earth Day The 22-year-old, no longer the little girl known as Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter series, posed nude for James Houstonâs Natural Beauty book to benefit Green Global USA, a non-profit dedicated to fighting global worming. The steamy photos showed a soaked Watson accessorizing with orchids. |

#6 By all means, let's talk about climate change. Let's talk about how the models in no way match the observed data. Let's talk about how running random data thru the same 'smoothing' process the climateers are using results in the same 'hockey stick' graphs they use to claim we are doomed. Yeah, let's talk. |

#1 ...illegal senator say what? Climate Change will always occur, due to many factors, which we don't yet understand fully. But first to lower CO2 emissions Franken needs to STFU |
