Blast Reported in Bolivia Congress | |

LA PAZ, Bolivia (AP) - A suicide bomber detonated his explosive vest in the Bolivian congress Tuesday, killing himself and wounding two police officers, police said. Police Chief. Guido Arandea said the man had made his way to a first-floor section of the building, away from the Congressional chambers. He set off the bomb after security agents cleared the area, police said. Arandea said the two injured officers had tried to talk to the man before he set off the explosives.

#4 I'm actually kind of shocked by this. I've been to Bolivia three times and I've always found it to be the kind of place where you might get mugged, but you would never get beaten up in the process. Peru on the other hand... |

#1 According to the BBC Spanish site, he was an ex-miner and went off just a couple of minutes after El Presidente left the building for a soccer game. His name is Eustaquio Icachuli Collaca and he was protesting pension reforms. |
