A Saudi cleric well known for his hardline views has repented on national television. Sheikh Ali al-Khudair said he has withdrawn his support for Islamic militants suspected of having links with al-Qaeda. Becuase he felt so bad, no doubt. He condemned the recent bomb attack on a residential compound in the capital, Riyadh, which left 18 dead. Sheikh Ali al-Khudair was arrested earlier this year for supporting Islamic extremists. Well, maybe repent wasn’t the best word choice. In a string of fatwas - or religious edicts - he had He must have reread the passage in the Koran about biting the hand that feeds you or something like that.

#6 This is quite shocking. It you ask me, this puts the validity of every fatwa in question. Maybe some imammuftiayatollahshiekhcleric will issue another one and clear it all up. I sure hope so. |
