[SUDANTRIBUNE] At least ten non-combatants were killed and others injured on Thursday when the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) shelled a transport station in the Aljarafa area north of Omdurman. Clashes between the army and the RSF continued in the three cities of Khartoum.
In a press statement, Sudan ...a Moslem country located in the Horn of Africa. It is noted for its affinity for rule by ex- or current generals, its holy men, and for the oppression of the native Afro population by its Arab conquerors. South Sudan, populated mostly by the natives, split off from Sudan proper, which left North and South Darfur to be oppressed by the guys with turbans... ese army front man Brigadier General Nabil Abdallah accused the RSF of indiscriminate bombing of the area under the army’s control, which led to the death of 10 people and the wounding of 11 others, including serious injuries.
The Aljarafa Resistance® Committee said that the RSF militia bombed the northern countryside transportation station with a bulldozer, killing nine civilians, including families and children, and injuring dozens more.
The situation in Sudan is likely to escalate further as both parties to the military conflict that began in mid-April insist on continuing fighting until a sweeping military victory is achieved, ignoring regional, international, and local calls for a long-term ceasefire to allow humanitarian aid to reach those affected by the fighting.
The fighting, which has entered its sixth month, has left extremely complex humanitarian conditions and displaced more than seven million people. It has also caused the collapse of the health sector, leaving most hospitals out of service, which has contributed to the spread of epidemics and diseases.
The two sides of the conflict repeatedly exchanged accusations of targeting populated areas in Khartoum and Darfur using heavy artillery, drones, and fighter jets.
Violent confrontations between the two parties continued for the twelfth consecutive day in the vicinity of the General Command of the Sudanese Army, east of Khartoum. Eyewitnesses told Sudan Tribune that intense festivities with light, heavy, and medium weapons were heard east of the command, specifically in the Buri neighbourhood, accompanied by shelling and continuous artillery fire. Thick columns of smoke were seen rising around the perimeter of the battles.

[SUDANTRIBUNE] The disbanded National Congress Party and the Islamic Movement in Sudan ...a Moslem country located in the Horn of Africa. It is noted for its affinity for rule by ex- or current generals, its holy men, and for the oppression of the native Afro population by its Arab conquerors. South Sudan, populated mostly by the natives, split off from Sudan proper, which left North and South Darfur to be oppressed by the guys with turbans... jointly expressed their rejection of the sanctions recently imposed by the U.S. administration on the Islamist leader, Ali Karti. Instead, they view these sanctions as a source of pride and honour.
On Thursday, the United States announced individual sanctions against Ali Karti, the Secretary-General of the Sudanese Islamic Movement, and two companies associated with the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF).
The U.S. Treasury Department stated that Karti "led efforts to obstruct Sudan’s progress towards a full democratic transition. This included undermining the former civilian-led transitional government and the Framework Political Agreement process, which contributed to the outbreak of hostilities between the Sudanese army (SAF) and RSF on April 15, 2023."
In response, the Islamic Movement issued a statement declaring, "The decision of the U.S. Treasury Department is akin to a badge of honour for the Secretary-General of our movement. He has steadfastly dedicated himself and his resources as a jihadist in the name of God and the nation."
The statement added, "Karti has selflessly sacrificed and remains ready to do more for the stability of Sudan and the triumph of its armed forces."
Ali Karti and Islamist leaders are believed to have played a role in the coup d’état by Army Commander Abdel Fattah al-Burhan on October 25, 2021. Additionally, they opposed the framework agreement aiming to restore civilian rule signed by political forces, army leadership, and RSF before the outbreak of the war last April.
The Islamic Movement emphasized that it comes as no surprise that the United States is making unjust decisions and positioning itself on the wrong side during a pivotal era in Sudan’s history.
During the Islamic regime’s 30-year rule under Omer al-Bashir, the United States designated Sudan as a state sponsor of terrorism and imposed economic sanctions.
In a separate statement, the dissolved National Congress Party hailed the U.S. sanctions against Ali Karti as "a matter of national pride."

[NYPOST] Turkey’s government said on Sunday two terrorists carried out a bomb attack in front of the Interior Ministry buildings in Ankara, adding one of them died in the explosion and the other was “neutralized” by authorities there.
An explosion was heard near the parliament and ministerial buildings, Turkish media had earlier reported, and broadcasters showed footage of debris scattered on a street nearby.
The blast was the first in Ankara since 2016, and comes on the day that parliament was set to open a new session.
Reuters footage showed soldiers, ambulances, fire trucks and armored vehicles gathered at the ministry near the center of Turkey’s capital.
Ali Yerlikaya, the interior minister, said on social media platform X that two police officers were slightly injured in the incident at 9:30 a.m.
“Two terrorists came with a light commercial vehicle in front of the entrance gate of the General Directorate of Security of our Ministry of Internal Affairs and carried out a bomb attack,” he said.
He added that one blew himself up and the other was “neutralized”, which usually means was killed. “Our struggle will continue until the last terrorist is neutralized,” Yerlikaya wrote.
A news site close to the the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), which Ankara has long considered to be a terrorist organization, said it has claimed responsibility for the attack.
TV channel NTV reported gunfire in the cordoned-off area after the explosion, where many police vehicles and ambulances were seen.
The Ankara police headquarters said on the social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, that it was carrying out “controlled explosions” of “suspicious packages” to prevent other explosions.

[An Nahar] A demo dubbed "Freedoms March" was attacked and besieged by a mob Saturday in downtown Beirut after it was accused of "promoting homosexuality."
The attacks against protesters and journalists left several people maimed and the besieged individuals were eventually evacuated in Internal Security Forces armored vehicles after several hours of chaos.
Media reports identified the attackers as members of Islamist groups who came from Tariq al-Jedideh and Beirut’s southern suburbs as well as gunnies from the hardline Christian group Soldiers of God.
The march had been scheduled to head at 4pm from the Riad al-Solh Square towards the Interior Ministry in Sanayeh.
Videos circulated online showed the attackers beating up some activists and bloodying them up and shouting insults and slurs at others.
The attackers said that they reject "all types and forms of perversion on Beirut’s streets," calling on the interior minister to immediately ban the march "because we will prevent it from passing through any road in Beirut and will confront the participants."
The Progressive Socialist Party meanwhile said "the attack on the people in central Beirut is totally condemned and rejected regardless of any consideration."
"Security forces must arrest the attackers and refer them to the judiciary, seeing as it is their duty to perform their role in preserving freedom," the PSP added.
A statement recited by one of the march’s organizers said the demo was called "Freedoms March" in protest at "the authorities that are repressing individual, journalistic, syndical and other freedoms."
"It is a reaction against all the repressive stances and the strenuous efforts to muzzle mouths in favor of the hardline trend that does not tolerate intellectual, sexual, gender and political diversity," the statement said.
Rainbows, school books, movies and drag shows have all been targeted in Leb ...an Iranian colony situated on the eastern Mediterranean, conveniently adjacent to Israel. Formerly inhabited by hardy Phoenecian traders, its official language is now Arabic, with the usual unpleasant side effects. The Leb civil war, between 1975 and 1990, lasted a little over 145 years and produced 120,000 fatalities. The average length of a ceasefire was measured in seconds. The Lebs maintain a precarious sectarian balance among Shiites, Sunnis, and about a dozeen flavors of Christians. It is the home of Hezbollah, which periodically starts a war with the Zionist Entity, gets Beirut pounded to rubble, and then declares victory and has a parade. The Lebs have the curious habit of periodically murdering their heads of state or prime ministers... in recent weeks as politicians, religious leaders and vigilante groups step up a campaign against the LGBTQ+ community in a country that has long shown relative tolerance.
In August, several dozen men from the Soldiers of God group trashed a Beirut nightclub hosting a drag show. They beat up several people, driving some patrons to hide in a bathroom.
The education minister also recently banned a game of Chutes and Ladders that was distributed to schools as part of a USAID project because it was decorated with a rainbow, Lebanese media reported. A video circulated online showed a man in the northern city of Tripoli ...a confusing city, one end of which is located in Lebanon and the other end of which is the capital of Libya. Its chief distinction is being mentioned in the Marine Hymn... using black paint to cross out a rainbow on the side of a van distributing books.
In early August, caretaker Culture Minister Mohammed Murtada requested for the General Security Directorate to ban the movie "Barbie," saying it "promotes homosexuality and transgenders." The Directorate, however, ruled that the movie is permitted and it eventually started showing in early September.
In a recent meeting, caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati, several government ministers and the head of the Maronite Church Cardinal Beshara al-Rahi discussed homosexuality. Afterward, the premier told news hounds that "there is unanimity to abide by moral Lebanese and family values."
Sayyed His Eminence Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah ...The satrap of the Medes and the Persians in Leb... , the leader of Hezbollah, called in a recent speech for the death penalty on people engaged in same-sex acts, calling homosexuality "a clear and present danger." He accused NGOs of circulating books for school children that promote homosexuality and called for the books to be banned.
